British based Angelmilk Records (www.angelmilkrecords.co.uk) has to date released the acclaimed Nexx album Another Dawn and recently signed Vox Tempus for a wider release of their debut album.
With a desire to expand the label, but a lack of time to do so, label boss Andy Bramhall approached McNeice, who he felt was in an ideal position to accept a new challenge.
Believing there is always room for a label with a desire to release only the highest quality music, a deal was struck.
McNeice will have a hands on role effective immediately, handling A&R (new signings and project development) and expanding distribution among other things.
Angelmilk owner Andy Bramhall comments: "I am extremely excited to have Andrew working for the label in his role heading up the A&R. Both of us think that there is room for more great music and artists to be developed in and around this scene.
Angelmilk has been kicking about for a year or so now and although we have a couple of projects in the pipeline, it has just been impossible to give the business the time and effort it deserves to be taken seriously, enter Mr. McNeice!
Andrew will be taking care of the day to day running of the label from sunny Australia. I have supported Andrew where I can over the past 2 years and I hope that with both our efforts we can build Angelmilk into a true force to be reckoned with, we are both looking beyond the standard here.
Please welcome Andrew to the team as I have done, and go easy on him while he settles in…stay tuned, its going to be great!!"
Andrew McNeice comments: "I couldn't be happier with my new role at Angelmilk. I must emphasize the fact that it is business as normal for MelodicRock.com. Absolutely nothing will change in regards to the site or the way it is run – with my daily updates and regular features all online as per usual.
This is simply a separate role for me and something that will help keep my creative juices flowing. I am always open to new challenges and after running MelodicRock.com for more than 10 years now, this seems perfectly timed. Staying inspired and focused upon the melodic rock world which I love is vital.
I will however, refrain from reviewing any Angelmilk releases. There is no way I will compromise the integrity of the site and I know Andy agrees with me on that. Angelmilk news and previews will continue to be presented on the site alongside all the other great labels and artists that I work with and help promote.
And further to that, while there is definitely a competitive streak among some labels in this business, it is not my desire to join in that game. With the regrettable demise of MTM Music, I believe there is a vacancy for another quality label to fill the big gap left by them, and present the record buying public with some quality releases that might otherwise not have found a home.
While I am at it, this will be a great opportunity to try out a few ideas I have up my sleeve and perhaps also do things a little differently at times.
There will be a few pet projects planned and importantly, some new talent too, always with the aim of releasing music of the highest possible quality. I talk about these things often enough on the site, so I view this as my chance to put that into action.
Angelmilk has always been a supporter of MelodicRock.com and was one of the few labels to actively sponsor MelodicRockFest last year. They believe in this music and this scene and that's exactly what I am all about. Let the challenge begin!"
