I Can See It Now

Postby Saint John » Thu Mar 27, 2008 3:24 am

With the Herbie Herbert interview now imminent, I had a vision not too long ago. After the pasting that Steve Augeri took, I can see the Wigglerettes (the majority of female Augeri fans...and Red13JoePa  ) lining up to watch Perry take his lumps at the hands of Herbie Herbert. They're getting popcorn ready, but not just any popcorn. Jiffy Pop? Nope. Orville Reddenbacher? Nope. We're talking 55 gallon drums on hand trucks. Butter? You fucking bet!!! It's being poured on in quarts. The anticipation of Perry taking on water is only surpassed by the thought of digging their claws into those drums and coming away with greasy paws full of buttered popcorn. The fat intake so great that they look like they they could be exchanging vows with the fucking Michelin Man at any moment. Ahhh...good times are back. Sit back, grab a beer, and enjoy the show.

Just keep in mind...Herbie's been known to talk shit before. Lora outed him on this board about him being the "real producer" of the remastered ESCAPE concert instead of Perry.

I'm sure that Andrew has done a stellar job with the interview and I look forward to the read, but it ends there. Unless specific dates and events are given POST 1998 that mention HH's direct involvement with SP, it's all alleged and not worth losing sleep over.

And unless you have been directly affected or insulted by the doings or sayings of SP, HH or any of the other past or present band members in any way, why get your shit all twisted up over it?

What a better place than MR to drop a bomb like this? It's so drama free around here... it'll be just another routine boring day on the MR forums... NOT!

I don't remember the quote word for word. And I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth. What I do remember is love and props going to Herbie, but also mentioning that she was in the studio with Perry and saw the production go down....which goes against Herbie saying that Perry wasn't responsible for the remastering.

Yep. I was in the studio and watched SP do the remastering. HH may have been referring to the original mastering of the Escape concert back in 1981 when he talks about his involvement. Could be where the confusion comes in.

Now, how do you know it won't be a civil discussion Image

Or a look back at Perry's accomplishments Image

Perhaps singing his praises Image

Or a discussion of his hair Image

Instead of putting Perry through the wringer Image

And acting like this Image?

Now Herbie may do this: Image

But let's make sure we don't do THIS to Andrew: Image

As for me, I'm stocking up Image

And going into a rousing rendition of LTS Image

Wow.

Lora, I would absolutely LOVE to hear your thoughts / memories from watching SP in the studio for the remastering sessions...have you discussed that before?
