Performances - I liked Michael (the Aussie) and David C. (the rocker) - probably because I'd never before heard the songs they did. The rest of them - not so much.

OK - I admit - I'm pretty much only watching the show this year because of the Aussie :)

The Aussie is the best singer by a long way - doesnt mean he will win tho.....

I'll probably be pissed if he doesn't, 'cause I do think he's the best. But I also really hope he doesn't win, otherwise he'll have to sing the awful 'written for American Idol' song and release some crappy album. He's better off being voted off early - hopefully the exposure will send him on his way to making a good record and having some success.

Well I guess I got my wish - he (Michael Johns) is gone tonight. Now I remember why I don't usually watch this dumb show. I hope he does really well, he's definitely got way more talent than most of the others who are left.

I have officially watched my obligatory one song of the season tonight... wah-hoo. LAME! After 23408459 years of this show, the contestants are getting less and less "yay". I liked this show better the first time it was on, you know... when it was "Star Search"... speaking of which, I remember watching David Archuleta on Star Search back in 03 or 04. He was like 2. Good kid, awkward teen. :P

I haven't really been watching a lot this season, but I caught David Cook doing this crazy version of Billie Jean and now I'm hooked on him. This guy can SING!

Yup - it's just not right. I'll be buying whatever record he makes, whatever style he chooses. He did an awesome job with the Dolly song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJQF6ChK ... re=related, and I'm liking this one from his pre-Idol band too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WquoHxNMo0Y

Maybe...but I'm pretty sure that I never said a single word about the song you're touting. Whitney Houston had the pipes to pull that song off. That said, it didn't mean that I wanted to be slowly tortured, listening to Dolly Parton music for an hour! But alas, we move on. Top three will be Carly, the guy who was BRILLIANT on "Billie Jean", and Brooke White (although the little 17 year old might overtake Brooke with the little teeny bopper vote).

Talented folk were robbed on both American Idol and Rock the Cradle tonight.

Disgusting.

Especially on Rock the Cradle. Jesse Money has talent, personality, and presence... while that fish-lipped, awkward art college reject-looking flabjack Chloe Lattanzi advanced instead?! Her caterwauling made me sound like Eric Scott Perry or some shit. Horrible.

A little worse than last week actually... not horrible, but it wasn't a very good song choice. She should definitely be safe, because that untalented lump of emo flesh Lattanzi stunk up the joint worse than Deano and St. John playing a game of Battleshits.

It's a good thing I'm not watching American Idol this year or I'd be pissed that Michael Johns is gone. The chick who thinks she is Carol King should have gone.

I always look up the results ahead of time so that I won't be all tense during the show.....

.....if I actually watched it.

I last watched when Constantine got screwed by the show's producers. You know they would NEVER let a rock singer win their stupid R & B competition. Suddenly the next season they had "Rock Star Idol" to keep us rockers and our vastly superior (and much larger) instruments off their proverbial one-dimensional stage.

Constantine SUCKED. HORRIBLE singer and he just thought he was God's gift. I was glad when they canned him. Terrible.

As far as Rock singers, Daughtry has pretty much kicked ass since he was voted off. Where's Taylor Hicks? He sucked too.

Well, the one I would have voted for if I voted was Michael Johns...it was pretty shocking that he got the lowest votes...the judges were shocked. He'll do good, 'tho...just like Daughtry has and he didn't win. I know that little kid Archuleta is gonna win, but ugh, he needs to mature & learn to articulate when he speaks.

Archuleta is lame, weird-looking, and has no presence or magic about him at all.

Give me his natural singing ability and I'd sure as hell do something with it. I'd make an awesome frontman if I had a good voice.

Well I guess my watching ended with Johns leaving. He should have sang some 38 Special rather than Steven Tyler. I was surprised when Ace sounded good on Dream On last year.

I think the key word in this show is "Idol"- If all the little kids like them and want them on their next lunchbox, then that's what it's all about.

Ah, but you are wrong, young whippersnapper! David Archuleta has the Tiger Beat/16 Magazine vote - if HE wins, you see his face on every teen magazine in town for at least two years. That's about the longevity of a teen idol.

He has magic AND presence, you just have to be a girl between the ages of 11 - 14 to see it.

Having been one of those during Donny Osmond's Presidency of the Pre-Teen Girls society, I recognize the qualificatons. :D
