Arnel does not sound like Steve Perry - he has a definite style of his own, but I swear it sounds like Perry doing background vocals! :) Must be Deen.

Huh....it's nice, I'm not blown away, but I definitely knew if Arnel was in a studio he'd be great.

He is!

It sounds like Journey....I'm not sure how I really feel right now. I should be amped and I'm not.

Oh well, that is just me. It's good enough, Arnel is good enough and I think this will be a great album - I will listen to the rest of it, but the fireworks aren't there for me.

Makes me kinda sad, like I've lost something that I don't necessarily miss, but want to want.

Does that make sense?

IMHO, I know what you feel, I felt the same thing when SA replaced SP. It took me a while to adjust my listening mode. But eventually I learned to like Augeri. I guess this is what Journey's path. I got used of replacing singer after singer. As long they still play their dirty dozen very good in their concert, and create a very good new music, I'll be OK with that. 8)

I have it streaming from home, and I'm recording the stereo mix from my computer to my hard drive. (Been doing so since last night). Presuming no technical glitches happened between when I left for work and now, I should have it when I get home. If no one posts, I will

I noticed it in a handful of places but it wasn't enough to really bother me any and not anywhere near what I expected.

Yeah, the diction did not bother me at all. But then I expected that on the STUDIO release. It is live that I am still wary.

If I have to be critical, the only thing bothering me about this song at the moment is the repetition of the chorus. It sounds like Neal wanted to play some more so the band decided to add another chorus. But I am okay with that if it means Neal is playing!

As for the ROR, BGTY comparisons. Maybe this is what the band would've sounded like if Neal was more actively involved with the album? This, to me, is better than ROR but it certainly has a feel reminiscent of that time-frame.

Don't know about the accent but I am DEFINATELY calling the Hackneyed Lyric Police on Cain for using "don't," "give," and "up" all together, in that order.

Songs ok...good chorus. Intro and outro (among other parts) remind me waaay too much of "Believe in Me" meets "Never Too Late."
Not sure if its lead single caliber...its certainly no "Higher Place."
