I had a pretty clear version of JSS doing Open The Door and it is my fav version. Not because of Jeff though but because Neal played with much more distorted and aggressive tone. Made the song rock much harder during the GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLL how you came to me.... Loved it and really would love to hear that same drive with Arnel belting it out.....

You mean there's more to a song than the singer? What a concept.

That only applies to bands not named Journey. ;)

Let it go already.

I agree. I will say JSS did this song well. SOMEBODY sings a funky harmony in there, but it ain't JSS. Neil also hits a clam in the solo at the end. Jss did a good job. Great song.

Is there another video out there that I can listen to where you all said he "kicked ass" on this song (one of my very favorite songs)? I've been meaning to ask about this for a long time...

I hope Neal considers playing it this summer along with some of those other great rockers...

Maybe I've got no taste, but Jeff sounds pretty strong here to me.
He is hitting those big notes, drawing them out and holding them.
Much, much, improved from when they last butchered this in 04.

you can't really hear it so good. i know. but it was splendid, I assure you. OTD is one of my all time fav Journey songs and I would be the 1st to poo pah a bad rendition.

methinks JSS could sing a page from the phonebook off key, and you'd still be ga-ga, my friend :D :D :D

only if he was wearing a tutu and standing on his head.

i dunno. maybe it was the song. OTD was one of my fav songs on this Journey tour. EOTB and DOA too

ESPECIALLY if he was wearing a tutu and standing on his head! :D

Oooo...so much more I could say, but Jeff reads this stuff and it would be rather embarassing if he ever put the face to the screenname.

I agree that the audio quality isn't that great, but I loved it the first time I heard it and I still do. I think Jeff pulled off the song very well!
