So now you are calling Mr P a jerk?Well that is just so worng. We know that man is not a jerk :D He will come out with a cd if and when he is ready :D

Yeah he will, so until then he needs to stop bullshitting his fans with false hope. I dont ever expect to see a new CD from him, if I'm proved wrong then I hope so but I just dont see it coming.

Fine but he can do what ever he wants. He has giving us so much wonderful music. So i am happy but i don't think he is bullshiting anyone.Read beween the lines and you will see.I really don't think there will be another cd.But that is fine with me.

Fair enough.

But Perry pops his head up just often enough so he reminds us he is there.

Just like FTLOSM? It's been gold going on 14 years now.

What about GH +5? I heard that went Aluminum.

Steve Perry hasn't sold jack shit as a solo artist. A big reason for Street Talk selling as much as it did is the fact that it had a Journey sound and he released it while he was still in Journey.

As do I but i imagine at that time people were like "Oh my god! Steve Perry from Journey solo album! I must go and buy it at once!!!". Whereas now "Some fella from the 80s released a new album....."

HUH? I'd like to have a copy of the ST version you've heard! . Other than Oh Sherrie and the stacked Perry background vocals, there is nothing that resembles a Journey sound. Naturally, when people hear Perry's voice their brains automatically think JOURNEY, but ST was more of a soul album than anything else. Same singer, different musical vibe completely. Even Herbie told Neal he would rue to day Perry released a solo CD, as it would be a hit. His voice was a radio staple during that era and one note told you it was him. That's why Journey has searched the planet looking for his clone for 10+ years....and still haven't found him.
Schon and Cain did solo projects, too. Neal did his long before Perry. Were they supposed to leave Journey before they released them, too?

My 'Journey Sound' comment came straight from Neal's mouth.

And where did I say that Steve Perry HAD to leave Journey to do the solo album? All I said was that the sales of Street Talk were boosted by the fact that he was in Journey and to the layman in 1984, it sounded like Journey. It was a smart move to release the album while still in the band.

Also, I can give a shit what Herbie says. He has shown that, right or wrong, he likes to speak out both sides of his mouth.

Plausible deniability.
Dude, come on.

You know as well as I do (even though we feel differently about it; you get a tingly twinge while I get a sudden urge to fold my arms, shake my head and smirk), that since the release of "Greatest Hit, A NonGreat Hit, One Other Song That Was On Radio, Some Album Tracks, And Some Songs The Label Thought So Much Of The Album They're From's Still Awaiting Realease (probably on the day the first leg of the TBF tour is announced)" that he's been using the mystery of his craft ("DOES he still have it? YES HE DOES!!!") as a pawn.
He sends cryptic, enigmatic smoke signals out through various mediums, USUALLY right around when Journey has something to do, that sends loons stampeeding into boards predicting his second coming ( ). The recent announcement of demos (that even IF heard we wouldn't be able to date with radiofuckincarbondating) among the rest.
And all the while, there's no LITERAL PROMISE of anything, as you say.

He just leaves that up to the escapees, who keep on locating that perfect, sincere pumpkin patch with Linus that THIS time he will really arrive in.

Ok that cracked me up! But you are mistaken as far as myself goes.....I don't see every demo, writings with other artists, etc. as a promise of new releases.....maybe some loons do. :? I am perfectly happy either way, he gave us the best and 150% of what he had.....I would still love some new stuff cuz I love his later more soulful vocals. But I've got 3 vocal rock gods so as long as I can listen to at least one of them at any given time, I'm a happy camper!
