Well, some of you know I've been off of work since 4/29 recovering from sinus surgery, and today I'm finally back at work sitting in my office for the first time in two weeks. Yecghh....

So I'll be "catching up" the next couple of days in my office, splitting time between putting out fires and madly posting on Melodicrock.com.

So here's just a silly bullshit thread. Just wanted to say hi. We can play "Ask Jeremey" today if anyone wants to. Anything to kill.....the......monotony...... :x

Would you ever want to try out IDOL or some version of it, like Taylor Hicks did a few years ago. and when the hell will Frontiers be in Central Iowa. besides when hell freezes over.

What would have been your most personal penned tune to jam on with Journey?

I think I played just about all the Journey songs I wanted to play with them while I was out there....For a while it was like back and forth between me and the band, like, "what about this one," and "can you do this one..." Loved playing "Easy to Fall" with Jonathan on piano....Also got a kick out of a few other songs I've never done live that we played like "Opened The Door," "Patiently," and "Forever In Blue."

Got it, thanks! Anything you can send me, let me know. Actually, I'd never sang it at all...I had listened to it on Infinity quite a bit, and knew the words, and LOVED the beginning..."It's the joy..." etc etc...But I didn't know how long the song went on, and the end of it just kept going, da da dum dum, and it's get quiet again, so I'd start singing "You opened up the door....Made my life..." etc....Then the band would start up again....I was like, damn, how long does this go on?

The Vic or the Park West would be great for a show like that.
The Vic can hold about 1400 with the general admission stuff. 1000 if they do seating.
PW I'm not sure on capacity but I've been there. Cool place. :D

I can get the info if she hasn't already included those. 8)

Totally, it would be a waste of time to haul from Roanoke to Chi to play a bar gig. I'll get you some more info today if not by the end of the week.

1. I know there are a few Journey tribute bands out here near SF, but unfortunately they do not have you singing! Just how far west do you perform and would you ever do Reno, at least? :) I could definitely make Reno!

2. I have heard some new music from you, any chance of making that into a CD and maybe selling it on your website? :)

3. Got a recent pic of Quinn to share? :)

Excellent suggestions, all, thanks to all of you Chicagoans for the info. I'll actually check into these places this afternoon, as long as my work ISP doesn't block the websites...

Riviera is, I believe, under the same mgmt. as Park West and Vic, and I'm sure any of those would work well for Frontiers. The Park West is such a cool place, not a bad seat in the whole room.

The Aragon... well the neighborhood blows but not a bad place overall.
I looked that one up - their website completely sucks.

Right now the farthest west looks to be Denver...We'd definitely do a Reno gig or even a SF gig if the opportunity ever came up. The unfortunate thing about west coast travel is this - To get a public/club gig in an area where air travel is necessary, you really have to have a "private" gig to subsidize the airfare. No club could ever pay the $4000 to fly the band out to CA, for example...But if we were hired by Stanford University for an event, for example, you'd get them to front the airfare and travel, then you'd schedule a public date around when you'd be out there...So little hint...Any dot commers or venture capitalists out there in God's Country, if you're planning a nice Christmas shindig this year and want a really good Journey tribute show, please drop us a line!

2. I have heard some new music from you, any chance of making that into a CD and maybe selling it on your website? :)

Thanks for asking...Most details are on my blog now at www.bullmuse.wordpress.com. Yes, there is current news regarding this!

3. Got a recent pic of Quinn to share? :)

I'd love to. I have been so behind lately though I haven't even downloaded a camera in 3 months... :x

In your brief time around the band, is Neal a bad person as everybody says he is or is he a cool dude? I'll hang up and listen for my answer. Thanks.

Neal was a very cool dude to me. I think he is generally a cool dude but he's been in a totally different world for so much of his life, that it may be hard for most people to relate to him. What most people think of as an assholey thing to do may not phase someone in Schon's position. I think a lot of people over the years have had careers that have hinged to some degree on Neal, including all the members of Journey...That's a troubling position to be in, and over the years, you end up pissing people off, there's no doubt. But the time I spent with him both one on one and with the band, I related a lot to him, and I saw the big picture of who this guy was....When there are things, as he's admitted, like alcohol getting in the way with some of those decisions or the way that you relate to some people, yeah, it does muddy the water a bit, but who am I to say?? I knew the guy for one summer basically, and really only spent less than a week with him. So take everything you hear with a grain of salt and in the end, don't let anything you hear impair your ability to appreciate music for what it is.

Thanks for your call!

No but I have gone to work with cucumber wrapped in aluminum foil stuffed in my pants, a la Spinal Tap! At the end of the day I made cucumber sandwiches for a homeless family and then we all sang Lennon's "Imagine."

Woah...That was out there, sorry about that!

Wish I were going to be NEAR Grand Rapids in August (I'm scheduled for MI in July).
I now live in Louisiana!!

My question to you was going to be, Do you ever come to the Northwest LA. area
or Dallas? If not how close to these areas will you be? I would LOVE to catch a show!!!
