Yeah, I never judge an album's production from MySpace clips, radio, or elsewhere. So much is lost in translation (no JSS pun intended for the BIM conspiracy theorists) that you just can't really tell. For example, I've been rocking that radio rip of NWA on my iPod for a few weeks today and when I turned on Cleveland's 98.5 WNCX when I started my car around 6:15 tonight, I almost pissed myself because NWA was playing. Even there, I could hear so much better... I could actually hear Cain's synths and everything was warmer. Just wait for the album and I hope Andrew is right and we get a great sounding album in Revelation.

I corrected your statement for you.

The underlying problem is Cavedrunk. He's an awful producer. He can't mix shit in a tin can...

While I think the clips of revelations sounds great...I am reserving final judgment when I get to hear it in person.

ALL the samples sound SHITEOUS!!!!!!!!!

It's just the encoding/bitrate/compression.

The finished product will not sound anywhere near what these samples sound like.

Dude reminds me more than a little bit of Dio in several ways! Riffs, lyrics, and vocal style...

And from the first Journey samples weeks back, I have been concerned about the production on this album. These sound HORRIBLE! But I have a real hard time believing Caveman would put out something this poor sounding, and am thinking surely the finished product will sound much better.

Of course the samples are highly compressed. You can hear that it is not the production sound that sucks but the compression.

BTW, I find it very normal to hear similarities between songs written by the same composer. It happen all the time with film music, even classical music. For exemple, Zimmer sounds like Zimmer, Mozart like Mozart and... Schon like Schon. :P

Yea,
It's kinda wierd how soundtracks like A New Hope,
The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Attack of the Clones
and Revenge of the Sith
all seem to sound alike!
I swear, he just keeps using the same riffs over and over again

I have heard a couple of full blown mastered CD quality tracks. Never Walk Away nearly blew my speakers apart and Deen's drumming was the best I have heard since Hardline. Thunderous.

I don't think anyone's going to be bitching about sound quality on the final released disc!

All the compressed files, including those sent out in advance were part of the bigger "lockdown" picture on this disc.

Neal's guitar does sound very similar to Believe In Me.
The backing vocals sound like they were ripped straight from Be Good To Yourself.
And the drums are flat as usual. That's my biggest pet peeve. When is Deen's snare gonna get some crunchy pop & thunder? When are the toms going to get some full melodic definition? Deen is such a great drummer and he needs to have his talent showcased a little better than wet cardboard thumping in the background. From what I've heard so far, all his drums are muddy and flat. And that is just wrong. I consider it a production failure.
