Dodge Journey - Anyone bought one yet?

Postby hoagiepete » Fri May 16, 2008 1:45 pm

I think there was already a thread on this some time ago, but has anyone bought a Dodge Journey? I checked them out today and am seriously considering it.

In searching the net, I found this article . Nice headline...

Any Way You Want It
Dodge Journey offers flexibility, creativity and space, all at the right price http://www.carguidemagazine.com/impress ... ticle/8039

My wife and friends will really think I have gone over the edge if I do it, but it looked pretty sharp. I won't give a F as it would be cool driving a "Journey."

Love it. 8)

I thought I heard in the news very recently (within the several days?) that Dodge halted production, or maybe stopped distribution, on the Journey. I heard a mention of it but I didn't pay close attention to the story, I just know it was recent. Something about focusing on a different model for now... :?:

They want to go back to their legacy design, so they're bringing back the Dart.

Hey...I learned how to drive in a Dart. It was my Grandmother's.

By the way, I drive a Pacifica at the moment and they are not making them anymore from what I hear. The Journey would be the replacement. Please don't hit me on the head with the shovel, as I am not that much of a loon to buy it because of its name. Kind of suprised someone on this thing has't done that though.

Yeah, the funny thing about this vehicle is that it is already one the auto industry sees being eliminated by Dodge within a couple years when they change chassis or something along that line.

There are some things that are a little too "plasticy".

Wow..the gas price for filling up a Honda sure has changed..I am still using my 1991 Honda for work..so glad I kept it..only spend about $20..well now..$25 a week on gas.
The puppy has 180,000 miles on it and never had any major trouble with it at all. I have really ever only had to do things like tires, breaks, exhaust, oil changes.

Great car..my sister had one that had 200,000 on it and sold it to a guy for one thousand. He was just looking for a car to use to take the ferry back and fourth to work.

I am rather excited to see if I can get that many miles out of my 91 Honda. Truly a great car to use for work now..especially with the gas prices.
Some people that I work with who drive nice suv's and would joke with me about me driving my 1991 Honda sure aren't laughing now with the gas prices they are paying compared to me.
The other thing is that sometimes for my work I have to park in real tight..or not so nice areas and I really don't care if this car gets dinged or anything.
The other thing is that it's a fantastic car in any type of bad weather.
I don't care..I am getting a kick out of seeing how many more miles and years I can get out of it..and it's paid for.. Insurance is very cheap too. Gets me to work and back.
