But Reagan did change the cold war with Gorbachev. Clinton should have went after Iran when our interests got hit but could find no legal reason. Attorney's should never be President. Much is made of G W . Some is true but most has to do with your ever loving Congress. At least he took it to them, we still have an oil supply and haven't been hit again so far. At least the oil companies are testifying to the fact that this country has oil and shale oil and coal that the Dems have blocked retrieving since the 1970-80's. A huge new discivery was found 2 mo ago in N Dakota and S Dakota. Lets drill off our waters like China is doing . Thanks Jimmy Carter and Dem congress for giving the Panama Canal away in the 70's . I hate to tell Obama, who thought that Mccain was addressing him as foreign policy idiot, he was actually talking about Jimmy Carter being over there defending Hamas. Idiots !!

With all due respect, what kind of freakin respect has Bush earned or deserved the past 7 years?
And the Reagan deal was half games behind the scenes. There is a whole lot more with the hostage situation that your CNN/FOX delivered to you.
You dont gain respect for attacking countries. You gain respect when you SERVE your country as you promised to they day you became the president.
Bush has never had any intentions or actions that shows he is passionate about his COUNTRY,,,,

Buchanan hands down. His actions relating to the growing divide between North and South were near treasonous - did absolutely nothing, some suggest deliberately.

Precisely. You know, Truman was hated by a lot of folks for YEARS...but think how many more die if he doesn't drop the bomb.

Many agree now that ending the war was the right call.

I agree with you about Truman- dropping the bombs actually shortened the war by 5 or 6 years because we didn't have to invade the Japanese mainland. Death tolls were projected to be in the hundreds of thousands (on both sides). I'm sure that Truman agonized over the decision to drop them. My Dad was in the navy in WWII, I have always believed that he would have been killed in the invasion, and therefore, I would never have been born- that being said, and being a WWII history buff, I still believe that it was the best thing to do.
I believe that we were right to invade Afghanistan, but as time has gone on, not so much with Iraq- but we still need to finish the job over there. The real enemy now is Iran- and that would be true regardless of if we invaded Iraq or not.

That it's going bankrupt?
We don't need George Bush to tell us that.
The people saw his savings account plan for the Wall Street giveaway that it is.
Before social security, old people were keeling over from hypothermia.
What sortof sick masochist would fight tooth and nail to do away with that?

What has been leaked shows a total disregard for checks and balances and a God-like belief in a unitary executive.

There is a difference between ending a war and starting a war that seems to have no end.

If W is to be compared to a former President, it is LBJ...not Truman.

W is a FAR worse President than Carter. Their economic records are both horrendous, but Carter was a humanitarian and a superb diplomat. The hostages-for-arms thing was fixed for Reagan from Day 1, so don't wax rhetorical on that tired old subject, or I will shoot you down faster than Cheney shoots small, flightless birds or fat, late-middle-aged bald guys.

W's arbitrary, unnecessary, useless, and provocative war in Iraq has sullied America's international image. It will not be repaired until a Democrat is elected President this fall.

BTW, ignoramus, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraquis are dead as a consequence of W's war games. 80% of the country considers itself WORSE OFF than prior to the invasion. I think they know better than you. And there was NO AL QUAIDA IN IRAQ before the war. Period, end of story. So go prattling on about your hero President, W, who will go down as the worst President in American history.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night

Put on your tinfoil hats for this one. It does not express my beliefs or opinions but was told to me 1st person by someone that was overseas.

I have a friend that was on the ground in Afganistan and swore to me that they were days away from directly confronting bin laden as Bin Laden and a small group of his troups were cornered in the mountains. He said that due to the geography there was no way out and that all they would have had to do were a few precision air strikes while they gave ground support to make sure no one tried to escape and they would have killed or captured the lot of them. He told that almost everyone was pulled out with no explanation and redeployed abroad.

He thinks that it was intentional because the administration needs their terror posterboy Bin Laden alive as an excuse to keep "the war on terror" going. His idea is that the U.S is intent on having a powerful presence in the middle east so that we can influence or control the natural resources of the area and that all this Iraq shit is a smoke screen for that. IN other words we are there to stay. I agree that Sadam had to go but we did not need a whole war to achieve that. What is more important to the government than Bin Laden ? Answer that and you know why they let him go..

If any of that shit is true... Hard to imagine. He is a cool guy and has never ever been known to be a bullshitter so take it for what it is. 2nd hand news from a 1st hand source.

WHo knows...

It is true that there were no AL QUAIDA in Iraq before the war. Saddam hated them and saw them as a threat. They are there now because we are there and we opened the curtain for them. When we attacked we created a level of disorder that allowed them to walk right on in because there was no police to stop them and besides they dress just like anyone else. Great job Bush administration. Its not just his fault ya know. Plenty of stupidity in the White House to go around.

The world is a way more dangerous place thanks to this administration. Their arrogance is incredible. Their supporters still gulp up any thing they say as gospel almost as if they are too scared to admit they were wrong.

From the moment I heard W speak I considered him to be a joke. I think as a rule that someone seeking the office of President of the U.S. should at least be able to string REAL words together in to logical sentences. I have met crackheads that have a better grasp on speaking than he does. How anyone voted for this obvious dope is beyond me. He just excretes stupid which is why there is such an incredible abundance of satire on him. Every time he opens his mouth comics the world over tune in for new material.

If you saw W at a party and he was just a regular Joe you know he would be the one doing a handstand on the keg. He had no business running this country in the 1st place.

You know, I'm no big fan of George Bush. However, he probably has more integrity and, yes, even intelligence than most of the morons on this forum who jump at every opportunity to criticize him. He can't win no matter what he does. I can't stand Bill Clinton, either, but you won't find me name-calling and saying all manner of evil personal crap about the guy.
