I can assure you that of the 200 or so people in Chicago that they were virtually all there to see Neal. Funny story, but Donati (and Tito can verify as he was with me) was doing his laundry across the street at the laundromat and had to say "excuse me" to get through the people waiting in line to get in. No one knew who the fuck he was. I've never heard anyone mention Mendoza in my life, and years later after Journey Jeff still can't tour on his own doing the bar circuit. Your argument is bullshit...plain and simple.

And your bullshit is tiring.

Alright...just for a laugh...

- Did you poll each individual on their reason for being present, or did you get on stage and just ask for a show of hands?

- Were you washing your scruds before the gig or after? Or were you acting as Virgil's bouncers (just in case the throng got out of hand)?

- Never heard of Marco? You should read the newsdesk on this website called melodicrock.com sometime.

- Jeff was removed from Journey last year. Not "years after Journey"

- JSS sells out venues on various parts of the world, not the USA. Soul Sirkus did not better. That's they way the USA is.

1) There were only about 200 people there so it wasn't too difficult to gauge which member the crowd was "buzzing" about. It was clearly Neal. A lot of people were actually talking about Jeff and wondering who he was. There was a fan of his from Texas that had every CD Jeff had ever made and was giving us a nice recap of Jeff's career. Pretty cool guy and a great fan.

2) Virgil did do his laundry across the street. You might be able to confirm this with Jeff. Though he proved to be a monster on the drums it doesn't change the fact that very few people knew who he was then or now.

3) Marco is a very good bass player. So are a lot of other people. He's no draw.

4) You are correct about Jeff's removal as far as "years" goes. Doesn't change the fact that he is basically a non-draw in the U.S. He sells out small bars/venues in Europe. Yay. The constant fawning over a guy that has had nothing more than a career as a "journeyman" is laughable. Talking about him in the same breath as Steve Perry, Jimi Jamison, and even Kevin Cronin or Joe Elliott is also a joke.

Andrew,
Soul SirkUS faired not much better in the UK mate.
My brother, (massive Journey fan) and likes Soto went along to a show over here just to see one man, Neal Schon. He travelled with a lot of friends (and trust me there were loads of them that travelled) to see that show. I do not know of ANY single one of those guys that went to that show to see anyone other than Mr Schon. They really couldn't give a flyin turd about anyone else in that band.
They were pretty much ALL there to see Neal Schon, as they can see Soto at pretty much ANY other time.
They all came away from that show amazed at Schon's performance, but thought that Soul SirkUS (The Band) were complete shit, and apparently thats pretty much what they heard from other gig goers on that occasion. People were there to see Neal Schon mate.

At the end of the day, Soul SirkUS were just not good enough. They released a piss poor cd, with dreadful songs, and an awful production. They should have been amazing, but thankfully, Schon saw the light, and they only subjected us to that one album.

Another valid point, I forgot about that. Actually, I thought it was at least $400k. Not to start it up again, but I think defendant, Mr. Neal Schon should be found not guilty of the alleged crimes.

Don't know about the record, but I think NS said that he lost that much on the tour. Said something about paying all expenses and everyone else first before he got anything. Thus, the loss.

Always thought the 'bad blood' argument interesting. If Soto was pissed that Schon ditched SS for Journey, then why did he basically do that to Talisman? Didn't Talisman have a record or tour planned that was shelved because Soto jumped on the Journey bus?

I'm sorry if you're bothered by facts, but that really isn't my problem. As for your posse...bring them. We'll have a good time. Chicago is fun this time of year. 8)

very little facts being tossed around so that arguement is a no go.

Tito, Neal told me himself, in person, $300k. your "thinking' it was closer to what- the -H -ever-$400k don't frickin count.

ooooooooo!!!! chica's got the can of Texas whoop ash opened today.

Posse on the way, dan. i've got a new strat too. and I'm wearing, "FAWN OVER ME" nail color on my nails, just to lock the moniker in. 8) no, i would never kid about a thing like that.

Please point out the factual inadequacies then.

What facts do you need?
The album was crap. Production was crap.
Sold diddly squat.
The chorus's were non existant, with zero hooks.
The band should've been amazing.
They bombed, Big Time.
If you thought they were a success then so be it, but the fact is 'they were NOT'.

Also, looking at this here poll, it seems a lot of people are in total agreement too.
