I've only listened to it twice so this is nowhere near final.

I'll give the disc a 7. GREAT singing and performing all around. I question a few of the arrangements and mixing issues, as well as some lyrical matter.... BUT there are a few downright GEMS on here.

Turn Down The World Tonight, Like a Sunshower, Change For The Better, After All These Years, Wildest Dream, The Journey (Revelation).... all GREAT songs. The others are all at least good.... not a BAD song on here, but a few derivative tunes and some of the same ol' same ol' lyrics lower the score a bit for me.

That's the CRITIC in me.

The FAN in me says they all kick ass, and I'll listen to all the songs repeatedly, regardless.

I gave it a 7 mainly because I'm comparing it to other Journey albums. At this point I'd rank it high up there, but not quite as high as the 10s, 9s, and 8s.(Journey, Escape, Frontiers, Arrival)

I don't like the beginning of the Journey (Revelation), but I like the rest of it. The only song I really don't care for is What it Takes to Win and a couple others that are just kind of "meh".

After one listen, I give it an 8. Not really caring for FITH or The Journey (Revelation). Other than that, I'm not going to be skipping any songs on it, which is much more than I could say for Generations. I only expect this rating to go higher with more listens.

Gave it a 9, would have been 10 were it not for Wildest Dream and FITH, the 2 weak links on the disk IMO. That being said, for me there aren't any skip tracks including the 2 weaker songs, which is more than I can say for Arrival and TBF which I love BTW.

I can see why one may not like Wildest Dream, no matter how hard it rocks!!

However, would you have rated FITH higher IF Arnel's version, were the first version of the song you heard?

The album just has this muffled sound to it, I am not very impressed at this point. I was hoping for a fresh crisp sound.

Muffled? I don't have that great a sound system and it sounds clear as a bell to me. Generations or Red 13? Certainly. Revelation? Nope.

It does to me, although maybe I need to clean my ear wax build up out.

ya i know what your saying, it is kinda compressed, but i think its better than being to "open" so the highs of the cymbals ,snares, and vox don't kill my tweeters

I like Wildest Dream but it just doesn't seem to fit on this disc for me. If this was Arrival it would fit in much better IMO. As for FITH, thats a difficult question. Let me try it your way, Ill have a few beers and pretend Ive never heard it  Get back to ya!

Sorry Prog, Just cant do it. The SA yell at the beginning is impossible to get passed. I like some of the changes especially the end, But I still say they should have added a different song.

I gave it an 8.
After more spins it "may" surpass
Arrival in my Journey Top-3 (Escape, Frontiers and Arrival).

Funny thing is, unlike just about EVERYONE else,
I absolutely hate AATY
Too me, it sounds like a fuckin' Country ballad!

I floated between 7 and 8. In the end, I gave it an 8 because I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Finally, a post Perry album I want to play more than once. Revelation is the album Arrival should have been.

I gave it a 4. I have given it a few listens so far-I was hoping it would grow on me and I'd start to like it more but it's just not happening.

Now, granted, I have not taken it on a run with me yet-once I do that it may change my opinion. I always seem to hear music in a different way when I'm running.

Nothing post-Perry has ranked above a 6 for me. You guys realize that 8-10 means like, best album you've EVER heard, right? There's no way.

I place my ranking system a bit differently because I'm pretty particular about music. It's not like I have tons of albums I enjoy listening to again and again and again. I can honestly say I've listened to the (perry era) stuff on a daily basis since I first discovered them. 8-10 for me means I can see myself adding Revelation to that every day listen list.

Yeah, its hardly muffled. Where are you playing it - underwater? You either have some poor audio equipment or a faulty recording.

Overall it gets an 8

Tracks 1-5 : 8

Tracks 6 - : 7

Track 11 : 8

I can even deal with AATY.

Wildest Dream is my fave.

What It Takes to Win sounds like it could be used in a Nike or Gatorade commercial.

Apparently, one needs to "Learn how to lose" and thus "You will have what it takes to win"

heavy stuff man....

FITH grew on me...It is what it is and I enjoy it as that song has been and still is one of my fav post Perry songs.

I gave it a 6. Were it not for "Never Walk Away", "Turn Down The World" and a few good choruses, it wouldn't have gotten that.
