I think the post count is second to the fact that whomever has been here awhile. Made friends, and feels comfortable here....I can understand the phenomenon, but don't relate to it.....It's kinda like having a certain 'hangout' in your life, been going for years, know everyone(may even be the alpha-male there), then another group(or individual) starts to hang out there, and takes some(or all) the attention away from you....totally understandable....

its about age.. if your not at least 35 years old then you just might be WRONG... however,, if you over 50 then you just might have forgotten what your posting about..

punks!! in my day.. if you wanted to post on a board.. you got yourself to a library .. a 5X8 and thumb tac is all you needed.. someone was bound to read it ..

if you ever had to whoop your ole man , then you get a free pass..

**** i charge a dollar a problem.. but just a quarter for a kiss... 8)

We had to walk to the library uphill each way! We couldn't afford luxuries like...gloves, or..... food. Our parents would give us a hot baked potato to keep our hands warm in the morning. Then we'd eat it for lunch! Good thing it was only 15 miles to the Library. :lol:

It's more about longevity than post count, for sure. Never cool for some stranger to come in as someone said, "guns blazing" and start attacking people who have been here a long time. You know, show some respect and get to know people a little bit first. Even people who are normally adversarial on the board may take mutual offense at someone who comes in and attacks one of them. People I first thought were a-holes when I joined ended up being really good people to know and hang out with, so you can't really tell who's really who until you've spent some time here.

Hey, but ScarabGator was nice in his first post -- ask him how he was welcomed to MR! HAHA! Many new members got the same classic greeting!

Really, though, above and beyond all this, it's more about band tastes than even longevity or post count. The top three bands here are Dokken, Europe and Journey, and we try to make room for others as we can, but the fans of those bands, especially the first two, are what the Journey board is all about.
