Agreed. 8)

Nice clip Aaron. It doesn't take an 'extremely critical ear' to know you are right. Augeri rightfully owns this one.

I agree as well.
I agree he owns that song,I listened the the 2001 DVD,{which I made a CD from it} in my car yesterday, and played it to a freind of my daughters, a 15 year guy that plays guitar like a pro, he likes Neals playing,he heard Steve a singing the blues thing he did before Lovin Touchin, he said, "reminds me of Steve Marriot from Humble Pie.That was cool,he had no idea that Steve M was an influence on his style

awesome that a 15 year old knows Steve Marriot and Humble Pie.
I know it freaked me out.he looks a little like Steve A, He can play anything, I jammed with him a couple times, he thinks the world of Neal, I already told him he will be a star someday. I play him the new journey Cd , he noticed the Van Halen sound on change for the better, he thought the new stuff kicked ass, I agree

What I remember about "Remember me" was seeing JSS in concert last year in Hammersmith dedicating the song to
his predocessor Steve Augeri with best wishes. Now I wonder if Journey were to pay that song tonight in concert, would they dedicate show that much class and dedicate it to JSS with best wishes ? Deen (given his really cool and classy statement of thanks to Steve A on the sleeve of Revelation) might, but somehow I dont see the others doing so.

Like sanity...

An expanding circle of artists to enjoy and appreciate. Headed to see JSS this weekend, Augeri at JTTC, Journey at several places next month; it's all good if you let it be...

I guess it's easy for small minded people to run down others...so go ahead and continue please...

Its not being small minded... Its human nature to compare and contrast. Everyone has their favorites and are willing to defend them. I think everyone here appreciates every member, some just are in certain camps.

It's not the compare and contrast that bothers me...it's the total trashing of the various people that I have issue with.

Journey in all it incarnations has given all of us so much music, so many good memories, so many good times that I get disgusted by people who find amusement in thrashing the very people who did all of that.

For the record, I have NEVER trashed any member of the band. I have always supported every incarnation of the band. They are good people. Now, I've been trashed in the past for making that comment many times.

Why would they? That wasn't Soto's song. That was Augeri's, and his first on top of it. There would be no reason to dedicate for Soto. Plus, Augeri was injured at the time. Now, if they played 400 Years Ago..., that would have potential to be dedicated to Soto.

Exactly. Maybe if they played Winds of Freedom instead? Actually on second thoughts that song was horrible!

Have to agree with Tito on this one!!

I gotta admit, he sounds better than Augeri ever did live on this song....

That kind of comment is what starts it. There are a lot of Augeri fans still here including me and he could have just said Jeff did a great job on this song and I would be fine with it. However, those kind of comments are meant to start something and they do.

Jeff does a fone job on that song or any he sang with Journey. He has IT ! Remember Me sounds to me like Sreet of Dreams by Triumph ? in the mid 80's.

It was dan. Jlt blew me away. I have a copy of the radio interview that JLT did with Howie Simon. He did Street of Dreams acoustic and it is just unbelievable. Anyone still got the link for that? I listen to it at least a couple times a week. Btw, aren't we pumped about Purple Rainbow? Wow.

Remember Me is a Steve Augeri signature song for me.

Never considered Journey 'bad ass'. That category belongs with all the street junk of the 70s and grunge crap of the 90s. Journey is a little more sophisticated, adult, and classy...than say, Motorhead. Always maintained that a band's stage dress should reflect what they want the music to be...not cave in to some pedestrian biker-wannabe cliche.

Me, too! In fact, a local record store (remember those?), that knew Augeri, told me that people were coming in in droves to pick it up just to hear that song. I positively love this song. I only wished they had performed it more often.

Although I love them both, I believe Steve owns this one.

See, that's just it. Some guitar players, bass players, & especially drummers can do this. But in a pop/rock band that's known for love songs, piano players have to be a little more reserved and frontmen have to be prettier. Again, this isn't Foghat or Motorhead...or even Foo Fighters.
