Isn't that exactly what Journey is doing with Arnel??? :?

He ain't that young.

He's young enough to be Neal or Ross' son, isn't he?

Yep, that's the truth for sure. D'oh!

If they were ready to impregnate girls at 17-18 years old...then Arnel could be one of their sons. I don't see any physical resemblance, except for height or lack thereof

It's actually the exact opposite. A "flavor of the month" pick would have been someone from AI or some other "hot" known artist with a limited window. Hiring someone from another continent that had never even stepped foot on U.S. soil (to the best of my knowledge) was downright bold and brought tons of risk. This was far from a safe pick. Literally and figuratively!!! Journey showed balls...big balls, by hiring the guy they thought was best for the job, regardless of ethnicity, location and risk factors. This could have very easily gone south and made them the laughing stock of the industry...still could, but I doubt it will. Love em, rip em or hate em, but this was a bold, bold choice, not some "flavor of the month" hiring as you're trying to purport it.

Arnel is 40 years old. As far as the article goes the author is obviously not a music history major. Skynyrd actually has three originals (If you are using recordings) Rick Medlock was the drummer for the band before Artimus and if you own "First....... & Last" he has some vocals on it as well. He was right about a couple of them (REO's last cd comes to mind) but what he/she fails to mention is that a lot of the older bands still draw huge #'s live. Hell the Eagles sell tickets on I Love All Access for $1000.00 and sell out all over the world. Yes The Beach Boys should go away, as well as several of the others listed. If huge record sales were the only requirement to tour it would be a sorry industry indeed. Including U2 who have only had on crappy record (so far) shows the person listens to whatever is in the top 40 and only likes music that everyone else does. He/she probably like "American Idol" (Man I Hate That Show) and rushes out to buy whatever pop pap is being pushed on the radio by some 20 year old who thinks rock & roll is named "Britney"
