Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Top 200 Albums

Postby tj » Fri Jul 18, 2008 2:02 pm

I just bought a CD copy of Escape at Walmart yesterday for $5. It was the remastered version put out a couple of years back. My previous version was the original vinyl LP from almost 30 years ago now.

On the cover is a sticker saying Escape is on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's top 200 Albums list. I checked, it's #126. Pretty amazing when you think of all the albums ever put out.

It got me thinking, how many other bands have been around 25+ years (eligible for the RRHOF), have an album on the top 200 list, and are not in the RRHOF? I know that a lot of politics is involved in selection of HOF members, but it seems like if you were impactful enough to make a top 200 album of all time, you should be inducted. Especially when you consider some of the loser groups that have been inducted.
