Dude I respect most of your posts, comments, and opinions but this one is.... well, silly.

ONE "ripped/stolen" riff for ONE song, out of hundreds, doesn't make Rush, Journey wannabes. They had gained their "legs" far before "Tom Sawyer" and have carried on since with many good albums and some of the greatest works rock music has seen..

And I would agree with you if the one song wasn't Arguably their biggest hit. However to be fair, I can't stand Rush, so I would probably find another reason to trash them anyway :)

Hey did I tell you that I had a buddy trick me into liking a song by Disturbed? He played me their Genesis cover and it blew my mind. He's gonna give me the 10,000 Fists album, straight-up... so I'm gonna have to check this out. LOVE their "Land of Confusion."

Yeah I saw that comment on the Now Playing thread! I was crackin up!! 10,000 Fists is a great disc!! The Title track and Land of Confusion are my favorites.

May be an ugly man but he's a pretty chill dude, and knows how to craft some nice tunes.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I'm gonna correct you here. Tom Sawyer may be their most mainstream song as far as popularity, but their biggest "hit" was "New World Man"

This may be the dumbest comment I've ever seen on this forum. The two bands are nothing alike, musically, personally, or whatever.

Not Dumb at all, I will explain later!!

Quote HH-"Nickel and Dime" from Journey's 3rd. album "Next" was brutally ripped off by Rush to create "Tom Sawyer," that launched their career. ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tYSeyqaJmQ Nickel and Dime.

I think that backs up my statement rather well! Although I probably should have said rip offs instead of wannabes.

That's ridiculous. To say that Rush, or Kansas, had any need to 'brutaly rip off' Journey is way over the top. Just because two songs have a small bit that sounds alike does not mean one 'brutaly ripped off" the other. I think it's more similar to Prince 'ripping off' Faithfully then a Vanilla Ice moment.

...which Colbert and Stewart have no problem expoiting to their fullest potential :D

There is a lot more truth and accuracy on the Stewart / Colbert shows than on Fox "news" (I mean, Fox Disinformation, or Fox Disinfotainment).
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!
