yes?

I don't like to see people wish ill on anyone, especially the lead singer of my favorite band. ;)

All four of these tunes could hold up fairly well in a live setting and have qualities that could hook casual listeners easily.

Higher Place, Signs of Life, To Be Alive Again, We Will Meet Again, Livin' to Do, Nothin' Comes Close, World Gone Wild, All the Things, I've Got A Reason....

ALL those songs are at least good, and most of those would be killer live..

Journey's got some great post-Perry songs -- I'd agree with your list, although I'd swap "The Place in Your Heart" with "Faith in the Heartland". The latter is a good song (even a very good song). But TPIYH is a solid rocker -- a great song. If they were to re-record something from 'Generations' for 'Revelation', I had hoped it would be TPIYH instead of FITH. (As it stands, I wasn't enamoured with the re-recording of FITH -- fell flat for me. I think the original captured much more energy.)

I'd like to see Journey start adopting some post-Perry songs as "new classics" -- essentially playing them regularly at almost every concert. Maybe they'll start doing that from this point forward, perhaps with "After All These Years". (If AATY goes into the Top 5 on the Hot AC chart, and certainly if it goes to #1, they better do this.)

As awesome that it is that AATY is charting highly, I would HATE IT if AATY got played at every concert from now on.

The less power ballads played at a concert, the better for me.... keep Faithfully because it's a brilliant song, but seriously, don't sap it up any more than that unless you have at least a 2.5 hour show.

I don't disagree with you. I just think that during a "normal" tour (where Journey headlines and has a longer setlist) they could start working a new "Dirty Half-Dozen" into the setlist. And some -- like AATY -- could substitute for some wellworn classics, like 'Open Arms' or 'Who's Cryin' Now'.

Why not regularly rotate a number of these into the setlist?

Remember Me
Higher Place
Faith in the Heartland
The Place in Your Heart
Never Walk Away
Wildest Dreams
After All These Years

Hey I'd like for AATY to be "subbed in" for OA, now there's a good idea. WCN's guitar solo is too awesome to keep it on the bench, however... 8)

Your list of Post-Perry songs include some dang fine tunes and none of them would sound out of place along the normal hits in a Journey setlist... maybe Change for the Better would be a better call than Wildest Dreams, though.

Why make it either-or? Okay, let's include "Change for the Better". How about Deen sings this one, since it was written for him anyway? A little bit of a change-up ......

If we add 4 more tunes, we're up to a "New Dirty Dozen". How about we include .....

To Be Alive Again
We Will Meet Again
Kiss Me Softly
Live and Breathe

Ta-dah ..... here are a dozen post-Perry songs that the band could play and that crowds would enjoy. We could mix this up with a number of other tunes, but the point is the same: Journey has some good post-Perry material. They shouldn't be afraid to play it ........

Journey should NEVER play ANY cover.
They have waaayyyy too many great songs of their own that they haven't played for eons to even be contemplating playing any covers, especially crap like Voodoo Chile (remember that shit). It's Journey for shit sake.

I agree with this. It was okay for one tour to have Journey jamming out to Voodoo Chile -- kind of an interesting and pleasant surprise.

But then they did it again the next tour, and I was over with it.

I'd MUCH rather hear Journey play underappreciated or forgotten tunes of whatever era -- Perry. pre-Perry, post-Perry. I heard "Of A Lifetime" on the 2005 tour -- totally loved it. Now I wish Journey would re-record it, make it more contemporary. How come Journey never plays "Girl Can't Help It" on tour? Why not? I think most fans love it. I've never heard live.

Anyway, Journey's got a ginormous catalogue of tunes -- let's hear more of 'em.

Drop the sappy corny, "I've heard it so much live I wanna puke" Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'. This song never needs to be played live by them again. EVER! That makes room for at least one new song right there. Lights could also go away for a while.

Out of the current Dirty Dozen the songs I'd keep nightly are:

DSB, Separate Ways, Faithfully and Wheel In The Sky. Everything else is up for debate.

Songs like Lovin' You Is Easy, Precious Time, When You're Alone It Aint Easy, Winds of March, Edge of The Blade, Remember Me, Higher Place, Signs of Life would all be good older songs to add in. Change For the Better, AATYs, FITHL and Never Walk Away (which is a much better version of BGTY...IMO) would be great choices from the new material and that would make for one hell of a good concert!

I agree with many here that Journey has such a huge back catalog, that it's silly not to change it up on a regular basis. It's one of the few things that disappoints me slightly about seeing their live shows over the years.
It's All Good...

I agree to an extent, but sometimes it's cool to throw one in once in a while, just to keep the audience on their toes. 8)

the theme concept would be cool... the thought that Journey would play 5- 8 songs from infinity one night or one week then Evolution etc... these shows would have to be the eve with Journey and be about 120 minutes and not the 90 minutes and 2 openning acts.

they should never do a cover unless it was a members solo side thing ie bad english hsas type thing.
saw heart last year they did 4 cover songs
i used to saw they could do anything except ror/tbf era and i would be ok
and have to hear AWYWI but they play it so fast they could drop it and add la do da .
or where were you, line of fire .
drop lights add a rocker from arrivial
they should do atleast 4 from the new.
stop touring with 3 bands
2 headliners with 1:45 each would be great.
