Now my favorite highlight of the show -- as Rick mentioned, our good brother T-Time had sent down a killer batch of custom Journey T's, and made sure we all got our pick. I got a beautiful grey one, and the only reason I didn't wear it to the show was because I'd already posted what shirt I'd be wearing in hopes friends could I.D. me easily. So one of the designs was a beautiful black T with a white or silver image of Arnel taken from his first concert in Chile, over a custom Journey scarab imbedded with a vocal mic, one of which I was given the honor of finding a way to get it to Arnel. Even as close as we were, I would have had to step over a few folks to get to the stage, and my attempts to hold it up went unnoticed (and unfortunately obscured a very cool friend's view, so I apologized to her and gave up that notion). Managed to pull it off at the LAST minute, when I had slipped out of my seat during the encore and was prepared, and sure enough, once the vocals had finished on the LAST song and Arnel was working the stage, he managed to come by one more time and there was NO ONE in front of me. The security guard didn't mind my approach a bit, and I held up the shirt, then handed it to him -- he did a double-take and held it up to look at it, with a really surprised expression, and he turned around and started to hand it back to me. I smiled and laughed and motioned to him that it was his, and you could tell he was touched to see it! After that, he came all the way to the left side of the stage and started shaking/slapping hands, and even stepped down from the stage to the next level to reach us -- I got a very nice and firm handshake from Arnel along with the others, and that made my NIGHT! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, T-TIME, and wish you and your bros could have been here with us!
...

I'm really happy for you, RIP!
BTW, your handshake experience indicates to me that a little closely managed/controlled "meet-and-greet" is important to fans (and perhaps to Arnel, too)---as I've been saying all along---whether some people like it or not!

Is it true that Nancy Wilson dedicated, "These Dreams" to AP? I read it somewhere.
Would appreciate confirmation.

Thanks everyone!

I saw where someone wrote that, but I didn't hear it myself. I do remember that I was talking to the people next to me when "These Dreams" started, so I just probably missed it. Nancy sounded excellent on that. I still can't get over how good those two ladies voices still are.

Eh, it's like I explained to you yesterday... I already saw the show. Hehe... plus I'll be going to one if not two shows before the tour is all said and done. Don't want to overkill. Plus, Monday mornings are just impossible for me if I'm not chained to a computer. This morning especially was utter chaos.

These dudes change the setlist around more this tour than I've ever seen. I love that. Keeps you guessing.

And yes, I believe you did say that. Good call.

There's talk about extending the tour. So better start planning now, The rest of the shows of this tour are selling so well, nothing but crap tickets left.

Maybe you should organizing that Hawaii party. "Build it and they will come"

Ok I'm not good with the movie quotes, , but you get my point.

Now, Journey -- hell, what can I say! I thought the Vegas show kicked A, but they freaking tore it up last night! And Arnel -- Good Lord, he's improved! He was outstanding enough in Vegas, but he was sooooooo much at ease, and full of ENDLESS energy. Listen, people take for granted how physically fit you need to be to really tour and put on a great show, and he was just... flawless.

Rick is right, Jon was out in front more than I've ever seen him, and we were pretty much directly in front of his side of the stage. At one point, during one of the new songs, he came over and noticed a group of people not showing quite enough enthusiasm, and sat down on the stage and crossed his arms, making a pouty look -- it was funny!

Hate to say "I told you so....."

There was something missing, though, which would have made it perfect... oh, wait -- it was YOU! But you would have been proud of me for rocking out the front stage, if even for a moment. You're rubbing off on me, and now my standards are getting elevated. Pretty soon, I'll be wanting to get ILAA tickets... haha!

I'll just say that Arnel needed the 2 days off that he's currently enjoying. In fact, he needed them badly. That back to back to back shit was not easy. He pulled it off, and pulled it off quite well, but 3 days in 100+ degree heat is no small order with that catalog. Hopefully, he's staying hydrated during the shows. He's like a water bug up there during the shows, streaking from one side of the stage to the other.

lol...I always get my days confused when I'm on vacation. I tried adamantly to talk them out of getting on that thing, but the line "You're drunk??? Well shit, that's the best time to go!!!" made it a must do.    I think they were laughing their fucking asses off as I went around your property doing 7 miles an hour.  The "Tea Cups" at Disneyland are more dangerous than me on a 4 wheeler. But I'll tell you what, I did enjoy myself!!! Some people enjoy 58 mph (Wayne) and some people enjoy 7 mph (me). :P
