Rubicon?

How did this song ever become one that was even considered for their set list at concerts? Not a hit. Not even on their greatest hits album, yet it gets played? Drop this song from the set list permanently and add a more popular song.

Yeah, i'd have to agree on this. The song is an edgy tune from the most awesome yet obscure Journey album though. Seems like an experimental tune, and somehow because it was 1983 they kept it.

Gotta disagree here.

Rubicon is one of my favorites in concert. It's a great rockin' song. I think the band loves it as well. I hope they still play it in Nashville.

Yea, Rubicon is a great rockin' song, as is Edge Of The Blade which they throw in sometimes. I guess these are Neal's pet songs, BUT for cripes sake, throw in another REVELATION song instead. Why did they drop Where Did I Lose Your Love from the setlists? :? FANTASTIC song!

Agreed.
This band have sooooo many superior songs to 'Rubicon', that they haven't played in years, or never played.

What about Message of love, I can see it in Your eyes, La do da, Do you recall, Dixie Highway, Party's Over, Where were you, Line of fire etc, etc, etc...All rockin songs that i would love to hear in the set.

Drop Rubicon now!!

They always seem to put one song in for the hardcore fans. Like Mother, Father in Las Vegas. I'm glad they do it. I'm not that big a fan of Rubicon though.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

The problem I see, and it is the same with almost every band, is that fans are always hooked on the 'popular' songs.....I tend to enjoy the deep tracks.

Rubicon, Troubled Child, Frontiers, Someday Soon, People and places, Daydream, Do You Recall, When You're Alone, Edge of the Blade, When I thin of You, Can't Tame the Lion, Only Solutions, Liberty, La Raza...etc.

After 30 years, I'm tired of the 'hits'.

Rubicon is currently in the slot I always suspect is the bone to the die-hard fans, one previously occupied by Edge of the Blade, Winds of March, Dead or Alive, and others. I personally really, really loved hearing at the Texas shows. I think Deb, Barb, and I may have been among the few in the venues who actually knew all the words, though. We sang really loud to make up for it...

Rubicon is a decent song and I'm glad it's in the setlist...

I love seeing "Deep Cuts" in the setlist and wish there were more....

ONE MORE, anyone?

Anyway... I don't get the fixation on "hits"... just because a song is a "hit" doesn't mean it's a better song than others. Seriously, play Lights and LTS and AYWYWI compared to Mother Father, One More, Precious Time, Of a Lifetime, Troubled Child, etc.... tell me how they stack up.... c'mon, dowit....

Then they were probably too young or uninformed about Journey Before Perry. I saw them for the first time right after Into the Future was released. they were a different band then, and they Rocked!! Love that era of Journey!

I'm right there with you - ONE MORE would be awesome...I hope if they do replace RUBICON they do so with another obsurity, and don't just throw another hit there.
