OT: Just Venting to My MR Friends

Postby epresley » Wed Sep 03, 2008 7:45 am

DAMMIT, my Australian Shepherd, Oreo, was hit and killed this morning, apparently by a truck. That dog went EVERYWHERE with me and spent many, many days in the corner of my office at work because he was lonely. If any of you have had a pet that you love, you know how damned brutal it is to lose them. Sorry, just venting, I feel like I was hit in the stomach.

Nothing anyone can say will make you feel better - but I am sending you a hug.
Hope it helps a tiny bit.

sorry to hear that man. I used to have 2 of those Australian Shepherds and they are extremely smart dogs. They loved my daughters.

So sorry to hear that :( – it is definitely very hard to say goodbye to a loved pet. I lost one of mine last year – the other 3 are stuck like glue to me today because I’m off work. After reading your story I vow to not let them annoy me too much.

Many condolences bro. Very sad to hear.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Make a collage with his photos to keep around for the kids and have someone do a painting of him from one the old photos. You can keep that in a special place where you like to kick back.

Just not smart enough to look both ways.
Please everyone keep your animals fenced in, on a chain or on a leash. It's sad to see a collared pet in the road knowing someone just lost a family member. :(

EP I am sorry about your beloved friend. Animals make our lives so complete. We will be here through your healing, and know that we understand how much you are going through. Seems most of us have had a special pet at one time or anouther that has lost their lives suddenly. I too wish to send a hug, via the thread, and want you to know we care. God be with you during this difficult time. ~Ginger

My exact thoughts, but I couldn't bring myself to post it. But since you already have....

Why wasn't the animal fenced in or on a leash!!!!!!!!
