Oh PLEASE!!! You've been stamping your feet and claiming if BO had made the remark before, it would be different. It was shown to you that he made the remark in Sept of '07. So now that your precious prom queen has used the word lipstick no one else can use it without it being an "attack" on her.

Get over yourself!!! You've lost all credibility with this nonsense.

There's no reason that he can't continue to do so just because she made a stupid joke. He did cut the crowd off when they started to boo her. He didn't have to do that.

Sorry, lady, but you'd argue with a fence post. Go ahead. I know you need to have the last word. Here's your chance.

Case closed. He said it. If you criticize Obama for it, then McCain deserves just as much. So put a damned sock in it.

If BO used the reference prior to the Palin joke, no one would be connecting it to her. It would just be a stupid expression. Again, his audience caught on, so did everyone else. He blundered here, deal with it.

I stand by that. The only reason this is a problem for him is because the lipstick reference is now atttached to Sarah Palin. When he said it the first time, it wasn't. Look, I am willing to believe that he didn't choose those words intentionally, but as soon as the crowd erupted in laughter, it was obvious to him how it was being taken. If he was such a smart guy, he would have nipped this in the bud before it got out of control. He's obviously not used to the media pouincing on him.

Sorry, it's not just republicans who were offended. This is a man wanting to be the President of the United States who has been perceived as calling a woman a pig. A lot of women are pissed off and they are not all R's.

He could have swallowed his pride for 5 seconds and made a gracious gesture towards Palin and all women, but he didn't. Now he can live with it.

I promise, this is my last response to you on this because quite honestly, I can't take it! You are comparing apples to oranges here. At no point in time (let alone a week earlier) had Ms. Clinton made a joke about herself as a pittbull with lipstick or any other lipstick/animal reference. IF SHE HAD, then that would have been a poor choice of words for McCain as well.

When are you libs going to retire that line? McCain is his own man - nothing similar to Bush and he proved it to the American people.

No. But, she would be a heartbeat away [no pun intended].

The more Obama speaks without a teleprompter, the more America gets to realize, this is one dumb guy. Give him another 4 years to learn the ropes better. He's simply out classed and out smarted by the Mccain team.

Obama is no dummy but he's also certainly no messiah like he thinks he is or his Democratic allies think.

He's simply young, inexperienced and has bad advisors and speech writers.

It doesn't take a lot of strategy to realize the lipstick pig would come off bad so close to Palin's speech. It was intentional (old fish anyone?), but may have been written by someone else.

Very simple.

1. Stick to issues.
2. Stop trying to out-insult the other team.

They've lost their way and its unraveling way to late in the game to save it.

The "pig" phrase is as old as dirt, and McCain has used it on more than four separate recorded occassions.
I could understand this controversy if the remarks were said while discussing Palin, but upon watching it in context, he was doing nothing of the sort.
Which begs the question, do Republicans choose to be disseminators of falsehoods, or do they just not care?

Last month, the McCain campaign was crying "race card", this week its the "gender card."
There is no story here.

The McCain camp went hard negative around the time Obama went overseas and haven't let up since.
Their latest ad claiming Obama wants to teach sex to little kiddies is the latest in a long string of toxic roorbacks.
Like Kerry, Obama is taking the high road and getting flogged.

The Democrats have such a high success rate when taking the high road, heaping praise on the opposition, and trying to point out abstractions in positions that have less an intellectual foothold in the brains of most Americans than the Theory of Relativity or String Theory.

Remember Jimmy Carter? He was a barrel of laughs. Barack Bin Laden is Carter redux, only more liberal. Add Joe Biden and you have a Europeon style socialist meltdown. If Europe wants Obama bin Laden I am more psyched than ever to vote against him. If you think Europe wants whats best for the USA you need to have your head examined. France will throw us under the bus in a minute and Germany is another goose stepping attrosity waiting to happen. Add the rest of the limped wristed whackos from the Old World and you get what you had in the 20st century...world wars that required the USA to save these losers from themselves.

PS: There have been no attacks on US soil since 911. Talk is for French surrender monkeys...talk is cheap...
