OT-Guitar Hero World Tour track listing

Postby Angiekay » Tue Sep 16, 2008 1:05 am

Activision Publishing has unveiled the complete track listing for its highly anticipated Guitar Hero: World Tour, the latest edition of the hugely successful video game franchise. The 86-song set list spans 40 years and features the largest selection of music yet offered on the game. Among the selections, which are all master recordings, are tracks from Metallica, Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, the Allman Brothers Band, Coldplay, Sting and dozens more.

For the first time, Guitar Hero will expand beyond just guitar playing on World Tour to include full band instrumentation. The game will go head-to-head this fall with Rock Band 2, the second edition of its biggest competitor.
In addition to contributing three songs, the members of Tool have also helped design a new concert venue in the game.

I'm hearing Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour will be able to use the same controllers (instruments) on both platforms. We played Rock Band (1) over the weekend on PS3, it was alot of fun, but the song selections you start out with were really limited (you have to unlock songs as you progress). I guess that's part of the fun of it being a game, but at a party where the kids were playing most of the time, the same songs over and over , got kind of tiring. Anyway you want it makes its official debut. Can't wait for more Journey cuts, seriously, there should (And can) be a ton

My guess is that by the end of the year there will be a Journey pack , much like the Boston pack with 6-7 songs.

Also, the new RB2 allows you to play most songs right out of the box with less hassles for quick get together like your party ... 8)

I've been wondering if "Any Way You Want It" is the original recording, the re-record w/ Arnel, or is it a crappy cover that the video game company made? Anyone know?

Wonder this too - I thought they were doing away with the 'covers' concept (for the most part).
