On vacation for what, though? That wouldn't have gotten him a vacation on the official board. Funny how Never Walk Away could be analyzed with an electron microscope and deemed a "ripoff" but the mere mention that the new Soto song has a Lenny Kravitz vibe/feel to it (which is actually a compliment!!!) gets you banned. I guess it was that dastardly "What's he gonna be next year" comment. That had to be the harshest thing anyone has ever said here. I sure he hope he reconsiders. This decision makes the O.J. verdict look good.

Thanks!! Well, I really like about half of the songs. The flow is just off for me. I understand that this is supposed to be a different direction but it seems to be going in a lot of different directions that don't necessarily mix IMO. That being said, Ill probably purchase it. I think its worth giving a shot on a good sound system.

it sounds great on surround system. the big one hooked to the hub's giant TV. 8) and the little Bose too.

I like that different parts of the cd. not one long song like NickelBack, whom I adore, or ColdPlay. that's what is cool about Journey--every track is different. to me, anyway. REVELATION not so much as some others but still a mix. imho I like the mix up. keeps it interesting.

Actually no, Our Song isn't as funky and soulful as some of the others. I really like the mix on this cd and love the funkyness of one's like Bring It Home, Mountain and Testify. But there is just something about how Our Song goes along then just KICKS into it. I can just picture a concert crowd rockin' right out to that one. :)

The sound of that one on youtube is crappy, is mucho better on the cd. Sounds amazing in my car.

Probably not. But I've seen lots of slide shows to artists music up on youtube. I don't know how or what they uploaded but the sound isn't anywhere near the cd.

Tell me about it!
I have to miss Firefest because we have gigs booked. It's at a venue 30 minutes drive from us, but it's over a weekend and that's when we get most of our bookings.
Can't afford to cancel work, and I am deeply upset because I could have gotten to see JSS's band, and Tall Stories and Hugo.

But - work comes first.

I still prefer Self employment to working for a company, however.

On the subject of JSS and his 'varying styles' - that's what I like about him.
I like that he can perform different stuff well.

I love many Artists and Bands, and I do have a varied taste in styles. And I do tend to get bored with a whole album by the same Artist if they are all similar songs, that's why I have always made my own compilations.
And I enjoy a live show much more if the songs performed are a wide variety of styles.

I have only seen JSS once, when he played the UK with Journey, and I would love to see him with his band doing the solo show.
I am gutted that I can't get to this year's Firefest because I think I would really enjoy his show, because I think he will play a really varied set.

Variety is good IMO.
Especially when the singer has soul. [eh, Deb? ]
