Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

So are you a sit down watch the concert like you are watching the Boston Pops, kind of person. Or a stand up support your band kind of person? Just curious! :D
I do understand people talking through the concert should be put before a firing squad. They get a blindfold and a cigarette.

i'm totally cool with people standing, dancing, cheering & discussing the show. last night, 2 guys were yapping about OT stuff throughout the set. i lost it when i was trying to enjoy a delicate a capella moment & they were talking so loud, i couldn't even identify the song being sung. i'm guessing they weren't there for the music, but were just trying to impress the chicks they were with.

Hey, you have my permission to go POSTAL on them! LOL! Your response earlier cracked me up!

Music MUST be on:

1. In the Car - EXCELLENT rehearsal time....and hey - if you can sing powerfully while sitting and driving, then you know you're in great shape. :D

2. At work - When I started my job in Advertising last year, the silence was DEAFENING! So, I went out and got a mini radio/CD player.
Unfortunately, my Office is in the bottom floor of a 3-story renovated Apartment bldg. NO reception...

...except for a certain "Classic Rock Station" here in CT....that plays the SAME DAMN SONGS over and over EVERY DAY!! :x

No WRXP! HOW am I gonna know when a TRAG song gets played??  8)

3. At night, in my 3 disc cd changer that I put on "repeat all discs" - relaxing New Age-y music. Oh, and "Dream After Dream". 8)

THIS is where a 20gb or more iPod full of music shines.

I think you've got us all beat. I have maybe about 40 gb backed up on a 100gb drive. Slowly expanding the collection.

As for players, I gave up trying to put it all on one. RCA makes 2gb "pearl" which can accept a microSD card bumping it to whatever. I put another 2gb in it. Sucker plays for 35 hours on a single AAA!

These are the 1gb versions but stores should have the 2gb.

Ha, sorry to put you guys on the spot. But seriously, Ohio versus Adelaide, Australia?

Yeah, sure, why not? The couch is comfy, Prog, you just have to put up with the cat complaining that it belongs to him. The music collection is yours to play in (though I do insist my vinyl gets handled with kid gloves) and if you get here in our summer (your winter) I'll even throw you my spare mask and fins and take you out for some of the best skin diving in the world :)

It's a bit of a swim to Tasmania, though 8)

Arianddu, I've read a couple times about your music that was stolen while in storage. Was it lp's, cds, etc?

No leads on the culprit? Somebody knows something. At least that what I've learned from all the Pacino/Kojak/Mannix/Eastwood movies I've seen. :D

About 7 boxes of vinyl, cds and tapes - a lot of the tapes are irreplaceable live recordings of local Aussie bands. I actually know who did it; a woman who was living with my Mum for a short time while I was overseas. My mother basically took this woman in because she had left her abusive partner, and the bitch shat all over her - ripped off a whole lot of her stuff, left her with a $1,500 phone bill, never paid any of the rent she promised, stuff like that. She moved out about 3 months later. Anyway, six months down the track, Mum sees one of this bitch's kids in town, wearing a T-shirt of mine; very distinctive, one of a kind. When I got back to Oz-land, went to check out my storage unit and found a stack of stuff missing, about a third of it. There was no evidence of a break in, but Mum had stored the two unit keys in an envelope with the pass-code to get into the place. She had thought that my t-shirt had been in the house and that was where it got stolen from, but I knew I had put it in the storage unit with some other personal art stuff. Basically, the bitch found the keys and the code, and at some point helped herself to my stuff.

Bottom line is - she denies doing it, and I can't prove she did it. Police basically said not much they can do, as by the time I got back, it was already three years after the theft would have happened. What really pisses me off is the boxes that got taken seem to have been done randomly; the boxes with my jewellery, about $15k worth of uncut opals, and a couple of good original art works weren't touched, a box filled with my old school excercise books walked, stuff like that. What really kills me is I suspect my collection, especially the vinyl (which had the bulk of my rarities, prog, jazz, and metal) got tossed in the trash somewhere.

Arianddu, sorry to hear. Something very similar happened to me although not to the extent of yours. In my case it was just a few cds and a couple speakers.

I'd be livid at this woman. Don't think I'd even involve the police if I knew it was her. I'd just take the stuff back if it was still around. In your case I realize the time past was too great. What a weirdo she must be.

She must not be a music lover or she'd respect your stuff. Maybe she was looking for the jewelry and didn't have time to get everything or got spooked.
