Would love to be proven wrong.

LOL Yeah, and at least one of those Arrival rejects was a TBF reject.
Newsflash...Journey goes green... and recycles everything they do.
I think Revelation was too thick with mid tempo crap from Cain. There's something about his solo writing that gets nauseatingly repetitious. Unless Schon adds ALOT of searingly hot licks to his compositions, it becomes a snooze-fest.

Christian Rock might give them a whole new audience. Cain is a shoe-in for the lyrics and Neal could rock it out.

Are they Journey songs?
A Neal solo added to a Cain solo work (like Every Generation) does not make a Journey song.
Arrival relied on outside writers.
2 of Red 13's four tracks were Arrival rejects.
Generations featured 2 unused Arrival songs, 2 unused Sirkus ideas, and Self Defense was a re-do.
Revelation (depending on which version) features 2 re-used Generation tracks and an Arrival track, as well.

Again, wait and see...

ProgRocker53 wrote:And knowing Neal, he's got a lot of stuff in the tank too.

When it comes to Journey post-Perry there is little proof of this.
Only Soul Sirkus showed Neal re-inspired and overflowing with fresh musical ideas.
Everything with Journey has been a smattering of new material, and cut, copy, and past jobs.

Which "Revelation" track was an "Arrival" leftover?

Didn't Jeremey say he heard an Augeri demo of "When Did I Lose Your Love"?
Maybe it was recorded after Arrival.

I'm pretty happy with the band's song output, but in the shadow of Perry/Cain/Schon, the chemistry of Schon/Cain/Augeri was abysmal if not non-existent altogether. The only chemistry that seemed to rival Perry/Schon was Neal and Jeff with SS.

Neal and JSS completed more new material for SS in a matter of weeks than the Augeri lineup completed in nearly all its time together.
Even Arrival was piggybacked on the shoulders of outside writers.
Like Perry and Schon writing Patiently in a fateful hotel room, Soto and Schon have the magic.

Just wish we could have heard at least one album of it as Journey. Bummer....

This is why I never bought into those stories about Neal touring to avoid being in arrears with his alimony payments. I don't think he would have risked losing the money ($300,000) he did with SS if he was strapped for cash.

lol, Deb. I went to the Soul Sirkus shows. Everyone there was simply waiting to hear some Journey stuff. The new stuff drew modest applause at best. Even the people that were there to see them weren't really there to hear them. And we're talking 200 per venue...tops. I know Soto came on here a time or two and pouted about how management had a conflict of interest and didn't want them to succeed, but someone needed to inform him that the music was shit...lyrically, musically and vocally.

That felt good.

Your opinion. I loved SS' hard-edged groove and JSS' powerful vocals. But I can see how you don't.........it doesn't have that balls-in-a-visegrip high tenor sound to it. And Coming Home was very Journeyesque IMO. Same with Believe In Me. I'd still love to have heard what would have come out of Soto/Schon/Cain.

BTW, love how you speak for a room full of people. What? Did you poll them as they entered as to what they were there to hear?

That could be a top 5 dumbest post ever on here. I don't listen to anything pre-Escape because Perry's voice was so fucking annoying and you throw that comment at me?!?!? When debating it's usually a good idea to make sense. Try that in the next argument.

It doesn't take 5,000 whispers of "Do you think they'll play any Journey?!?!" for me to figure out what people were there to hear...I figured it out after the 4,999th time.

 My bad, it's just that most of your faves are/were high tenors aren't they? And just going on your comment of anybody with some grit to their voice as being Wolfman Jack.

My favorite Journey album has always been Frontiers. I don't like more than 3 or 4 songs total from Infinity, Departure, and Evolution combined. I'm an Escape, Frontiers and ROR guy for the most part. Street Talk, too. :D

ROR is a fine piece of work. It' the speeded up songs on the tour that sucked. Though a pretty good amount of that tour was awesome!!! It just all fell apart really fast. :(

Besides one great song (WCTNGOF), ROR's other redeeming value would be using it to scratch my man taint. (I hate that album).
