OT: POLL "CHINESE DEMOCRACY" A SUCCESS?

Postby PianoMan1986 » Thu Oct 30, 2008 2:33 pm

1) I could really care less because to me, it's "Axl & those other guys," not G'N'R.
2) Diehards will buy it, despite being...what, 17 years in the making?
3) I doubt that today's generation will be attracted to it, and if they are I'll be surprised.
4) My guess is that Axl goes out on tour for it, but gets pissed as usual and either cancels dates or cuts shows short.

Ok, I've spouted enough -- something I'd like to think I rarely do

if it fails then the next logical step is to reunite guns n roses.i bet a hundred bucks by this time next year we will be seeing a guns n roses reunion.here lately every time they interview slash he is bending over backwards to praise axl and most of these guys had a get together minus axl here about a year ago so all the signs are pointing towards something eventually happening.you've also got to remember axl is in a shitload of debt to the tune of 15 million dollars for all the time spent on this recording and how will he pay this money back eventually......reunion.

velvet revolver is now broke up because they have no singer and all they are is basically guns n roses minus axl and the funny thing is velvet revolver is having trouble finding a singer but they do have this one guy they've been talking to who is really well known and really good....hmmm.

also i just remembered that irv azoff manages velvet revolver and....guns n roses.....hmmm

In #4 you left off, axl arrives two and a half hours late to the concert and then is too drunk to even sing and needs the mic stand just to hold him up (ref. the Concert in Tokyo back in the early 90's.) I'll never go to another one of his concerts because of that. My girl and I walked out of the show about twenty minutes into it, he couldn't even sing he was so fucked up.
I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Just an aside: L.A. Guns was ALWAYS better than GNR...Tracii was smart to get out early.

The hype alone will make this album sell and be a success... It'll have little to do with the quality of the songs

Here is my scenario of what will happen.

The album will come out and sell like mad. This in turn will generate excitement for a tour, this tour will sell out and for the first 3 weeks or so will go pretty much as planned. A**hole will start to have "vocal problems" i.e. — his ego will get out of check and he'll start showing up late, fans will get mad and soon shows will get cancelled/postponed/rescheduled. Finally the last remaining dates will get cancelled outright and the reason given will be exhaustion.

All the while the album will cool off and fall out of the Top Ten, however the back catalog will be selling good numbers, prompting pressure to get the "classic" lineup back together. Management will facilitate "guest appearances" of the classic members save for Slash who will be the last and when he does a tour will be announced.

THAT tour will go well for about 2 months, then A**hole will start his crap all over again and it will all fall apart - NEVER to rise again.

Goodbye and farewell forever.
Oww. My aching tentacles.
