That was a close nailbiter.

Dean...if you read what I wrote, it was a question! I was all of 10 years old when Reagan got elected to his first term and 14 when he beat Mondale, so I honestly can't say I remember. I guess I'm not surprised he beat Mondale so handily. Even back then, I thought Mondale was a VERY weak candidate!

Those have to be the two most lopsided elections in history. For some reason, I thought the 1980 election was a lot closer. Also, is it really possible (according to that map) that Jimmy Carter lost Georgia to Reagan? That seems odd. I guess I'm not the only one who was a fan of Reagan.

Actually they gained control of the senate in 1980 which the +12. One more try.

If you looked, I didn't say that with absolute authority. I don't go google first then post. I post it and rely on smarts, or lack therof. If I am wrong, I apologize and feel stupid.

Besides, I was in tears from Dan's "smack him in his Frankenstein looking face" quote. I still am lauging at that, because it is so true! He has that square lookin' pissed off grill. Dan that was what I said on your voicemail, although I bet you won't be able to discern that.

Read what I originally wrote. I knew the '84 landslide and just needed to verify the 80 landslide numbers which were correct.

1/2 correct. 1972 election was also 49 states for Nixon. Not sure which one didn't vote for him. I'll check.

As I suspected, that first map isn't accurate. Carter actually did win Georgia. That said, the final electoral tally was 489 for Reagan and 49 for Carter. That is fucking embarrassing! That has to be demoralizing to lose an election like that. Shit, I thought McCain got smoked. Compared to Reagan, it was a nailbiter!

This is a landslide too. Bush I over Dukakis. Also, this is what a great President does for his Vice President who tries to succeed him unlike the overrated Clinton who couldn't do it for his V.P. and for his wife 8 years later as well.

BTW, this is 40 state to 10 landslide.

Duh? Maybe this country is not as bad and mean as liberals think it is. Maybe the big shift Tuesday was liberals, particularly white ones, realizing this place ain't bad as they thought. This shift for the rest us was years ago.

Do you find it interesting that the source of this info is anonymous? They are looking for someone to blame and Palin is the target. She wasn't their lapdog and whoever it was in McCain's organization that she pissed off, is trying to get revenge. All this stuff coming out is making whoever it is on the inside look like the idiot instead of Palin, in my opinion, and unless they come out and man up and let us know who it is, it doesn't seem very believable at this point.

I Play in a basketball league. Game tonight, my team is up by 25 and we start to blow the lead. Opposing team, about 50% of color, is making a run. One guy (white by the way) drives to the basket, sinks it, plus the foul. Other team's best player (black) pounds his chest and screams OBAMA!!! Unreal...Thank God we sent that jackass home a loser.

no you're not gloating.

a day after the election you expect people who supported mac to do a 180 & jump on the obama train? sorry... not going to happen. some aren't that easily lead. he has to prove that he can walk the walk... right now... he's all talk... actions speak louder than words. that's what they say.

he has my support & respect but i'm not jumping on no damn train. not yet. he has to prove himself to those that weren't supporting him.

btw... again... i am not a rep.
