I think the problem isn't the Browns, but the fact that...you're all living in Cleveland.

I feel bad for Brady though, his defense really screwed him over. But what was that last series? He played a great game until the last 60 seconds.

philly finally won a world series for the first time since 1980 and the city pretty much won its first championship since 1983 when it comes to NFL,MLB and NBA so if they can break that quarter of a century drought then there may be hope for the browns, indians and cavs....

Brady really played a great game. Even the last series, he just made one bad pass under pressure with a bullet into the ground. They shouldn't have been throwing it anyway on that play. We had 2 TOs left with over a minute. 3rd and 1 shoulda been a run. 4th and 1 shoulda been a run (Winslow should have caught the pass anyway, Brady threw it pretty well). They didn't even put Lewis or Cribbs in the backfield to even feign the run on 3rd or 4th down, they weren't fooling anybody. Pathetic coaching.

Listen Steelers fanboy...While Cleveland/Pittsburgh may have once been "the best in sports" in your Pittsburgh head, don't be ridiculous! It was NEVER "the best in sports" anywhere outside of Pittsburgh or Cleveland. The Red Sox versus Yankees has always ranked at the top of the list as the most heated rivalry in all of sports, and that's been stated my many who work in the sports world who have no Boston or NY connections!

Yeah your right, the rivalry isn't noted as the best in sports...I was well exaggerating to make my point, but the rivarly has it's respects outside of the Sox/Yanks Celtics/Lakers, Ali/Frazier, Redskins/Cowboys, and Bears/Packers and so on. Actually, I would say the Steelers/Raiders rivalry was more heated at times than the Steelers/Browns.

Regardless, it was a heated rivarly..even in my Pittsburghfanboy mind

For us it's the best rivalry, we can agree on that man. I don't give a rat's ass about the Sox vs the Yanks. I got sick of SportsCenter covering Boston, NY, and CA sports ad nauseum millions of years ago.

Right, and I don't give a rat's ass about Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh!

I've heard others make this statement, and I'll tell you what I told them...It's MORONIC! ESPN and SportsCenter cover the teams who win, period, end of story! I can tell you that back in the 90's when Dallas and San Francisco were the dominant teams in the NFL, the Patriots were NEVER EVER EVER even mentioned by ESPN! Hell, most people didn't even know there was an NFL franchise in the Boston area! Also, I'm a rabid ESPN watcher, and I can tell you that the Tampa Bay Rays got FAR more coverage on ESPN this past baseball season than the NY Yankees got, and rightfully so! I can also tell you that prior to last season, I'm not sure the Celtics were mentioned on ESPN in over 20 years, and the Bruins haven't been mentioned in at least that long, so this Boston, NY bias thing is stupid! There is only a bias toward teams who win, and that has never and will never change with ESPN!

Up until shithead Modell moved the team to Baltimore, the Browns/Steelers rivalry was bigger than the Yankees/Red Sox ever was. And Baseball is the sport that I know it's history best of all.

And Ohio State/Michigan in college Football was every bit as big of a rivalry as Yankees/Sox in Baseball.

Right...I forgot you were the baseball historian, Peter Gammons! Get out of here with your Cleveland hardon! You can join the conversation if and when you ever get a real football team! You're the same expert who predicted the pathetic Brownies were a Super Bowl threat and were going to win their division this season. Good call! Go give Jimi a hug!

I know a guy who was born and raised in New York city who's two favorite sports teams are the Yankees and Browns, and he has always told me that in his opinion the Browns/Steelers was always an even bigger rivalry than Yankees/Red Sox. And like I said, he was from New York, not Cleveland or Pittsburgh.

Thanks for reminding me why I can't stand you. Every fucking one of your posts involve you knowing a guy from another city telling you how great everything "The Mistake By The Lake Is"! Well, I think all of Cleveland's teams suck, so there!

I've been feeling like that for awhile as a Raider fan, though usually without the whole "blowing a lead" part. If we even had a lead to blow once in awhile I would be kinda happy. It sucks. I am kinda proud our Janikowski broke a Raider scoring record today though. Woo.
Rock on,

Perhaps I am overly sensative to it right now, but the title of your post just pisses me off. I just got home after being out of town for 3 days to find out that a friend's 19 year old son committed suicide.

It's just F'ing football. Get over it!

I'm so sorry for your loss and what your going thru... I've been there...found my own mother in her car in the garage when I went over to her house..had my son's with me at the time and they were only 8 and 10...tried everything I could to revive her..but she had been gone..I'm not telling you this to make you feel worse..believe me it's something that is still very difficult to talk about and I hardly ever talk about it to anyone even after many years have passed because people then unfairly judge me by it....but I just want you to know that your not alone and I'm sure everyone will understand your need to vent. This kind of experience opens our eyes to many things and the anger will be there along with the grief and confusion...it's something you'll probably never really understand and it will take time to forgive. Your friend will need everyone around to listen when they want to talk and lean on when they don't...and you will as well. God bless...
