Same to you! Hey, did you really audition for "The Color Purple" against Oprah, or was that just part of the skit? That was freakin' hilarious... haha![/quote]

Nope, one of my friends is a fan of black actor/comedian Paul Mooney who at times disses Oprah and he talked me into it. Plus, in the second video where I am in front of a washing machine, I had gone out for dinner and drinks and was slightly tipsy and figured...what the f**k?"

BTW - I think you will appreciate this, Mr. Rip Rokken and the MR folks. Paul Mooney was one of the creators of the In Living Color television show, but got kicked off 'cause some of his sketches were too racially explosive. He is funny, but at times, at least for me, he can really push the envelope. Here are two videos, Paul talks about Mike Richards after the N'word thingy came out. Wait for the racial joke about the chocolate cake, very, very funny! Then Paul talks about Oprah and this is kind of where I tried to go with my video about Oprah.

Well, gotta run, but again have a great turkey day. MBPL

Funny stuff... I've always believed that when we get to the point where we can no longer laugh at ourselves, we lose one of our greatest strengths as humans. I feel what Michael Richards did fell completely outside of that category, and I agree with Paul -- when I first saw the Richards "meltdown", I felt he meant what he was saying, and it was shocking. Not much way to spin that after the fact and he's suffered a lot for it.

I can't argue against Oprah's success -- my hat's off to her there, but she irks me for a very specific reason -- she gives me the impression of being into self-worship, and it turns me off completely. Makes sure her name is attached and promoted with the benevolent things she does for others (like Madonna), and anyone who can publish their own magazine featuring themselves on each and every cover is... well, enough said. Even Martha Stewart has better taste than that... I think Oprah is the self-appointed god of her own cult... LOL
