NO KIDDING. WHAT is the deal with DMB? I can't stand them.

Yeah, they seem like a glorified stoner/college band at best... but probably why they're such a phenomenon among trendy college kids and stoners... especially the latter. For some reason they get to play TWO dates in Pittsburgh almost every year, and end up selling out both... WTF?

No question that DMB are good players- BUT just because you can play fast or intricate stuff doesn't give someone's music merit. You HAVE to be stoned to appreciate them I guess. Just like the Grateful Dead. When the drugs wore off, their audience went "JEEZUS! These guys SUCK"

DMB, Creed, and Nickelback are 3 bands that I won't tolerate being played in my presence. If I'm in a bar, that's when its time to get myself more shitfaced.

Ive always liked Steely Dan. You have to be in the exact right mood for it, but theyve got a couple of clas songs. I ve always loved the lyrics from Deacon blues:

" THey got a name for winners in this world, I want a name when I lose. They call Alabama the Crimson Tide . Call me Deacon Blues."

Steely Dan- HATE them. All of my fellow musician buddies are like "ooh, listen to the chords and inversions they use, blah blah blah". I don't care. Their music and their singer blows. Hate that band.
Jethro Tull's another. Blech. Worthless. NO FLUTES IN ROCK~!

I'd have to disagree with you as far as YES goes, but then again they do have their own following. I will agree with you on STEELY DAN though...the only thing remotely humorous about them is the origin of their name. Also, Jethro Tull's not worthless when you look at what they did and brought to the table.

Those drives are still $200 plus and the media is $5 to $25 a disc. They'll come down a shitload if you give it some time.

Edit: Fry's has a Blu Ray burner for $149.

I will only admit this once.

I wasted 45 pitiful minutes and listened to their whole album.

This broad I was chasing after listed them as her favorite band so I thought I'd take a listen to them thinking hey, it can't be that bad.

Believe me.

It was.

I'm calling for a reality check too...no way this happened, unless copious amounts of crack were involved! And if it did, who would admit to it...? Totally classless not to mention downright weird.

i've done some wild exciting crazy things in my time.some people would think its funny, some would think its cool and of course some would think its weird but that goes with the territory.all my friends used to love hanging with me because they knew if things got boring sooner or later i'd do something off the wall to liven things up.to be honest i'm fairly boring these days because a lot of times back when i did those crazy things i was intoxicated with alcohol or drugs but i wouldn't change any of it.yep i surely did do that to the album, lol.it may have been classless or strange but at the time it was funny as hell and no crack was involved only alcohol.we can move on to the dope stories but if you think this one was strange you definitely wouldn't want to hear the others.i'm like any other person who partied hard for years in that i've done things that were a blast and i've done things i regret deeply.shitting on a yes album is something i don't regret, lol.

Yes' "Fragile" is one of my favorite albums ever. "South Side of the Sky" and "Heart of the Sunrise" both kick maximum ass.
