it's almost over, right?

Florida is the ONLY team to lose AT home, to an UNRANKED school. USC lost on the road, Penn State lost on the road, Texas lost their only game on the road in Lubbock, and Oklahoma lost it's only game against Texas at a neutral site.
Now, tell me, why does Florida, ranked 4th and BEHIND Texas, get to play for the BCS championship? Texas DID beat Oklahoma, who appears to be playing Florida in the title game. Texas is getting shafted..big time. USC is too. Their conference might be down this year, but so was the SEC, and the Big 12 was easily the best conference in the land. Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech all have 1 loss, and ranked in the top ten. USC also played some actual talent in their OOC schedule. Look up Ohio State. Florida, you got away with an OOC game against Florida State, and also enjoyed feasting on the Citadel. The Citadel? Before you say, well, USC played Virginia and Notre Dame and they suck, those two schools historically are always solid. The Citadel?
Oh, and this little gem as well. Alabama dominated that game for 3 quarters. They manhandled UF at the line of scrimmage. Florida could not stop the run. Why does Saban go away from that in the 4th quarter? There is no way Florida could have stopped Bama's run offense. Baffles the mind. You can be rest assured, that Bob Stoops, who has an even better offensive line, the best in the nation, won't make that mistake. Florida is in for a real rude awakening. The sad thing is, they shouldn't even be there.
StocktontoMalone wrote:Not to mention Texas can't go because they weren't Big 12 champs....OU was Big 12 champion, and Florida was SEC champion.....Florida is going to get it's collective asses handed to them.
Fuck Florida.
Granny wrote:Not arguing with you on OU going. I am making the case for Texas to be there as well or SC. They are BOTH more deserving than Florida, period.
Regarding your argument Rick, Alabama has only one loss- Florida by 11. They beat Ole Miss by 4, a team Florida LOST to, AT HOME no less.

..but who knows with this BCS SHIT.
StocktontoMalone wrote:The way the BCS is set up, they should look at the schedules before the seasons starts. And let it be known the only teams that have a shot at the National Championship - based on the strength of schedule. Cause that's basically what it is.
If Penn State went undefeated, I doubt they would be in the BCS game.

Yes and no. Schedules are made 3 to 4 years in advance. Example: How was USC to know Virginia would suck and Notre Dame would be an embarrassment; again. Now, Penn State on the other hand is well, Penn State, but JoePa has to do better OOC than Coastal Carolina, Syracuse and Temple. Playing Oregon State was respectable, but the other three? That's on you Paterno. If Penn State went undefeated, I doubt they would be in the BCS game.
Yes they would. Big Ten Champs carries with it some leverage and they did beat Ohio St, Mich St and Illinois along with Oregon State.
Granny wrote:Ok, then how about Utah and Boise State? 12-0 each.
Before you laugh yourself silly, remember Boise beat the red out of Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl with a last play Statue of Liberty. That was awesome.

Granny wrote:StocktontoMalone wrote:I agree....those two teams are undefeated, and thus should play for the title. But the BCS is political.
No, not really. USC, OU, UT, Bama and UF would crush those schools.

Recheck your logic. Are you saying that they don't deserve to be in the championship game because they would get crushed?
So if OU, and UF are the two teams, and one of them blows out the other by....say....30 pts. That the losing team didn't deserve to be there? Now that's some damn fuzzy logic you be presentin', Granny....
