I like the song , the first version. They should have got rid of the second part and do a killer ending It sounded like two songs The second version sounds like elevator music especially when gay nuts puts the dinga ding towards the end. Twirp couldnt help himself had to be in every song. I can see him playing with his pink PJs on and wearing crotchless panties. Neal was still hitting the bottle and let Friga have his way

Minus the jabs at Jon and Neal, I couldn't agree more.

How so? They've acted no better or worse than Steve Perry, yet few hurl insults in his direction. Out of fear of his legions of darkness, most likely.  :P

No problem. Don't worry, I find most of your posts very entertaining. I just would like it very much if someone could PM me the list of egregious and heinous acts of Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon. It wouldn't surprise me if they were egotistical, arrogant pricks. Many men of great talent are and, as I said, there are accounts of Perry being no better.

But that's just my $.02.

Same here. I hate the way they killed the momentum of the song in the re-record.

I'm telling you, replacing the guitar for keys was a colossal mistake. Especially when Cain had nothing to do with them.

The two versions are not even close in quality, in my opinion. The original with Augeri kicks tons more ass than the newer version with Arnel. Arnel sounds technically good with the vocals on the new version but he just sounds like he's reciting the lyrics off a sheet. On the other new tunes, he actually sounds like he's more into them like they are more his own even though he didn't write them.

We noticed the effects of your intoxication. The grammar issue wasn't the only mistake you made; you also said that Revelation's version of the song is better than Augeri's.

Preferred the new version. Although it definitely sounded less rock oriented it seemed bigger in scope and ambition. I liked the pacing more.

It is better, to me anyway. I never connected to the Augeri era of Journey. I was kind of absent when all that went down. I think Arnel gives a much stronger vocal. The production is better and for me, the Revelation version flows better. It's become my favorite track on Revelation.

Having had both for a while, prefer Augeri's version on both FITH and TPIYH.

I agree. It's not so much that I don't like the song, as I just don't like it on a Journey album. If another band came out with this, I think I'd like it better. Kinda hard to explain. :?

It should be a Giuffria song. Freakin' Journey Lite.

Took me a long time to appreciate FITH. Still think its too long but Augeri's delivery (maybe just the yeah yells? :) ) saves it for me. Actually, Schon's singing guitar leads are pretty cool in it.

Pineda's version does nothing for me. Skip every time.
