A Broadway musical based on Michael Jackson's 1982 horror-spoof "Thriller" video is in the works. Jackson's rep announced on Monday (January 26th) that the Nederlander Organization had acquired the rights to produce the show. He said, "The Nederlanders and Michael Jackson represent live theater and musical excellence, so let music begin."
Jackson plans to oversee "every aspect of the creative process" and will provide songs from Thriller including "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" as well as tracks from his 1979 multi-platinum album, Off the Wall.
EOnline.com reports that the plot will presumably follow the 14-minute "Thriller" video that focused on Jackson and his date being chased by dancing zombies.
