OT - CD on sale for Aussie Bushfire Relief

Postby Arianddu » Fri Feb 20, 2009 7:36 am

I know quite a few of you like Aussie music, and a lot of you were wishing there was some way to help the Bushfire victims, so I thought you might be interested in this.

Sony Music in support of the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal have put together “Bushfire Aid: Artists For The Bushfire Appeal” All Artists have donated their royalties, and even the manufactures of the CD have waived their production costs. All proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to the Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal. The release date is the 23rd Feb, but orders are being taken now.

Track listing:
Disk 1
1. Bruce Springsteen - The Rising
2. Shannon Noll & Natalie Bassingthwaighte - Don’t Give Up
3. Billy Joel - Honesty
4. Beyonce - Halo
5. Empire Of The Sun - Walking On A Dream

Some of it's pretty naff, but some of the songs on there are good stuff, and there's a nice selection of Australian and International artists. As far as I can tell, Amazon hasn't picked it up yet, but if you put the CD title into Google, it brings up a dozen on-line stores straight up where you can buy it. The price is $19.95AU and I've found one place selling it at €16.64. No idea of how that translates to $US, $CAN or pounds, sorry.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Cool, let me know what you think of the other Aussie artists. Shannon Knowle is NOT to my taste, it's not the Hoodoo Gurus song I would have selected and I have to be in the right mood for Delta Goodrem and John Williamson, but it's an interesting mix.
