Secondly, Mister "I Can Debunk Anything", you've been watching too much Star Trek. You're working from the assumption that our benevolent alien benefactors have the same physiology and biological functions as we do. Just because you and I drink water and breathe air doesn't mean they do.

Stephen Hawking is human just like the rest of us. Scientists also claimed the earth was flat, and that the sun revolved around the earth. Not knocking him, but so many scientists have distorted facts from their beliefs over the years, it's scary as hell.

As far as the "debunking anything", I was just messing with you. We can go at this though! So you believe that aliens came here that didn't breath air and drink water like we did? And I assume we evolved? Is there any evidence of this?

:P

Oh, now you've gone and done it Mister. Scoff if you will at me, but I will not have you question Mr. Hawking!! Never!

Is there evidence of what, that our alien lords and masters didn't drink water or that we evolved? Oh, Hell, let's fight about something else. I don't know enough about alien crap to keep us this charade...

Alright...uhm....what else do you want to fight about?

Alrighty, then. I know you're a musician. I have always been of the opinion that it is not necessary, or even desirable to have singers write there own songs. My opinion is that songwriting is a craft unto itself and should be left to the professionals. If someone has the ability to do both, great, but why force the issue? Particularly with young artist who may be fine vocalists but sorely lacking in the ability to write a song. What say ye, Jimbo?[/quote]

I don't necessarily agree with that. There are singers who are great songwriters, and several musicians that SUCK at songwriting. I'm still just getting my feet wet in the process of writing lyrics, but have worked with singers who could rattle off lyrics as fast as you could play the songs. I just think it's something you have to craft, just like any other talent. Just like drawing or painting...you're not going to paint a million dollar painting on your first try.

I understand that. I guess my point is, it seemed back in the old days there were people whose job it was to write songs. That's it. Just write songs. And they were very, very good at what they did. They were poetic, they knew how to turn a phrase, so to speak, and write hooks that really stayed with you. It seems to me that's lacking in todays music.

I seriously hope you're joking. Humans (at least this early on in our civilization) don't have a freaking CLUE about our universe, and anybody that claims we can understand it is an utter idiot! I understand that. I guess my point is, it seemed back in the old days there were people whose job it was to write songs. That's it. Just write songs. And they were very, very good at what they did. They were poetic, they knew how to turn a phrase, so to speak, and write hooks that really stayed with you. It seems to me that's lacking in todays music.

p.s. what's wrong with this thread? There's no separators between posts here...very strange. 8)

I seriously hope you're joking. Humans (at least this early on in our civilization) don't have a freaking CLUE about our universe, and anybody that claims we can understand it is an utter idiot! They didn't know until just recently that our moon (as well as several other moons in our galaxy) contain water. They also told us our entire lives that Pluto was a planet. Now it's classified as a meteor...you're telling me that these scientists have a freaking CLUE about anything in the universe? And for the record...I don't think we ever went to the moon.

As far as the "debunking anything", I was just messing with you. We can go at this though! So you believe that aliens came here that didn't breath air and drink water like we did? And I assume we evolved? Is there any evidence of this?

Alright...uhm....what else do you want to fight about?

Alrighty, then. I know you're a musician. I have always been of the opinion that it is not necessary, or even desirable to have singers write there own songs. My opinion is that songwriting is a craft unto itself and should be left to the professionals. If someone has the ability to do both, great, but why force the issue? Particularly with young artist who may be fine vocalists but sorely lacking in the ability to write a song. What say ye, Jimbo?

I don't necessarily agree with that. There are singers who are great songwriters, and several musicians that SUCK at songwriting. I'm still just getting my feet wet in the process of writing lyrics, but have worked with singers who could rattle off lyrics as fast as you could play the songs. We went to the moon. Period.

Were you there? Have you ever researched any of the evidence that says we didn't? There is a lot of evidence that says we didn't. We as a country had a very serious need to be the first to land there (with the arms race). If we landed there 40 years ago with 40 year old technology (today's cars have much more electronics and more powerfull computers in them than the lunar lander had in it back then), then why haven't we gone back? How did the radiation experienced then not kill the astronauts? They basically wore a vinyl suit with a plastic helmet...not nearly enough to protect them from all that radiation.

How were there multiple shadows cast from the rocks from the supposed single light that NASA claims was present?

There are so many instances of "how the hell do they explain that", that it makes me really question whether or not we ever landed. I'm not saying we didn't, but there's a LOT of evidence out there that screams hoax. Just saying!

We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special. - Stephen Hawking

And for the record...I don't think we ever went to the moon.

...and there you have it folks.

Let's debate it!

Well, no there isn't a LOT of evidence out there that screams hoax. What's out there is just enough misinformation, and enough mis-connected dots to get the conspiracy theory nuts going. There's no doubt the Americans were anxious to be the first to the moon with all the Cold War jocking for position that was going on at the time. I'm nowhere near qualified to make an attempt at trying to debunk this theory, but, I'm inclined to answer some of those questions with other questions, such as: why would we need to go back, didn't we go 3 times or so? Didn't find anything, so what's the rush to get back? How much radiation are we talking about, and just what were those astronauts suits made of anyway? I'm sure they weren't vinyl/pleather with Nerf helmets. And as for the shadows, first you have to take in to consideration the position of the sun, not just the light from the craft. The sun does shine on the moon and cast shadows just like it does on the earth, you know.

I dunno. Just seems like the more questions, the more questions.
