Now to stick to the topic

just my $.02

We have more fun NOT sticking to the topic :P Plus, we all got what he meant so we didn't need to seriously comment :P No more gay jokes or personal insults. I never personally insulted any band members, so I'm safe  We can still insult each other though.....

Well Stevew, I guess this is where the tough love comes in bro.

I know it's tough man, but you can do it. Just make a clean break.

When you feel the heartache, just remember Friga driving out of your life in Tito's Malibu:

That mental image will give you the strength to put it to rest.

Goodbye Friga, goodbye.

Andrew, people are a lot smarter than you think if you think about it cause you know it is the truth and nothing really gets finalized cause no one really wants strict sanctions but you know you have to say and do something you know...it's a journeymen's life game. i think it is really cool thing to say and try to do and you can do it cause you are the master of the forum and it's your gig just do it - whatever- and let's see how things work out you know. peace.

Well maybe Florida English is close to Australian English and " besides" means something else down there.

Well, if you had used a comma after it, it could have taken on a different meaning. " besides, the gay and divorced jokes, I dont see any reason why a fan shouldnt be allowed to express and explain their thoughts and opinions about/towards the band members ..." See, maybe Andrew saw a comma :P   And I speak in Pennsylvania English, thank you very much

Indiana , not Ohio. That's where you see the Amish.
BESIDES , I rather live amongst hillbillies and Amish than amongst retired and old people :p

I was just pontificating a bit on the spirit of his vibe! LOL! Not me usually but I let the spirit move me tonight. Wish I had been old enough to have visited the grounds at Woodstock and taken a snapshot of the place for prosterity. Hmm, don't know if that is the word or not tonight; just become one with the universe.
LOL! Hope he clears things up cause it is truly not good for your karma to be involved with this kind of shit. Or, the Journeymen will get you and you know that is more than a notion.

Well, Ohio has TONS of Amish and I DO live among the hillbillies now in Florida    I need to take some video of my town and send it to you apparently   Not many old people. Lots of young "hillbillies" with pick up trucks though :P People goin 4 wheelin. People drinkin on their front lawns in lawn chairs all night long (not in my neighborhood, but nearby ;) ). BUT I do not speak the language, which was my point :P  I'd rather live in a real city :(

Sadly, that's true. Amish populations have higher incidences of particular genetic disorders, including dwarfism, various metabolic disorders, and unusual distribution of blood-types. Since almost all Amish descend from about 200 18th century founders, genetic disorders from inbreeding exist. Some of these disorders are quite rare, or unique to the Amish communities, and are serious enough to increase the mortality rate among Amish children. The majority of Amish accept these as "Gottes Wille" (God's will).

We also have Amish in Wisconsin. As land prices continue to escalate in PA, many Amish are moving to Wisconsin and purchasing farms as dairy farmers are retiring and selling off their farms.

Andrew wrote:Ok folks. Now that I am back on deck and taking back my active role as moderator here, a few things I'd like to clarify and update.

First of all - this forum will always be open for topics of just about any nature and for both positive posts of support for Journey and free debate over possible points of contention. However, with all posts, I'd like some folk to show a little more respect.

The personal bitterness between some factions seems to have evened out nicely, but I'm concerned that there are still personal digs made at the actual band members. You may not agree with all decisions the band makes - and that's fine, but I think a little more respect needs to be shown when commenting on these decisions or when posting your views.

For example, the constant references to one band member being gay is both old, tired and a little sad really. Another example is the regular references to alimony payments. You guys get the point I'm trying to make here.
I put a stop to most of the personal attacks here and I’m going to do the same with any unfair attacks against the Journey members – both past and present.

These guys have been around long enough to warrant a little more respect when discussing them. Incidentally I was informed there were some references to family members at one point - something I will certainly not tolerate.

I can't read every post of every thread, so if anyone sees an inappropriate post I have not yet attended to, please PM me.

The history of this band is long and complicated and the fan base is even more so....but these few adjustments to a few folks attitudes when posting here will only make for a stronger forum and dare I say the best Journey forum online. Period.

Thanks for listening, comments welcome.

Sorry, but this really did make me laugh. Do you really think this is going to change? Not critiquing your efforts, or whatever...but you are asking to turn water in to wine...I just can't see 'respect from all sides' EVER happening...ever.

Realistic. Some people have a tendency to act like assholes and treat others, and Journey, like shit. It's how they are. It's their nature. It's not gong to change. Unles Andrew axes their accounts and locks the forum down, they will always be here...pushing the boundaries and getting away with everything they can. Given the history of this forum, I find it very, very, very unrealistic to expect EVERYBODY to respect each other and Journey.

Knock this place all you want, but I think it's nice to not have to conform to the hardline rules that other forums have. Rock and roll is over the top and rebellious by nature, and there is not room for too many rules. We love Journey but we won't conform to rules that force you to praise them or be silenced, and that's why many of us come here to get away from that controlling shit. The guys in Journey are not infallible gods, but rather, they are imperfect humans just like you and I. But Andrew has the right to tell us to chill on the gay Friga jokes and alimony jokes because it's his forum. Maybe if we are real nice to him he will let Stevew slide with a bi-curious Friga joke now and then?

BTW - Did you ever hear the one about Neal's seventh wife?

JK!
