Andrew, people are a lot smarter than you think if you think about it cause you know it is the truth and nothing really gets finalized cause no one really wants strict sanctions but you know you have to say and do something you know...it's a journeymen's life game. i think it is really cool thing to say and try to do and you can do it cause you are the master of the forum and it's your gig just do it - whatever- and let's see how things work out you know. peace.

Well, Ohio has TONS of Amish and I DO live among the hillbillies now in Florida I need to take some video of my town and send it to you apparently Not many old people. Lots of young "hillbillies" with pick up trucks though People goin 4 wheelin. People drinkin on their front lawns in lawn chairs all night long (not in my neighborhood, but nearby ). BUT I do not speak the language, which was my point I'd rather live in a real city

Sadly, that's true. Amish populations have higher incidences of particular genetic disorders, including dwarfism, various metabolic disorders, and unusual distribution of blood-types. Since almost all Amish descend from about 200 18th century founders, genetic disorders from inbreeding exist. Ok folks. Now that I am back on deck and taking back my active role as moderator here, a few things I'd like to clarify and update.

First of all - this forum will always be open for topics of just about any nature and for both positive posts of support for Journey and free debate over possible points of contention. However, with all posts, I'd like some folk to show a little more respect.

The personal bitterness between some factions seems to have evened out nicely, but I'm concerned that there are still personal digs made at the actual band members. You may not agree with all decisions the band makes - and that's fine, but I think a little more respect needs to be shown when commenting on these decisions or when posting your views.

For example, the constant references to one band member being gay is both old, tired and a little sad really. Another example is the regular references to alimony payments. You guys get the point I'm trying to make here.
I put a stop to most of the personal attacks here and I’m going to do the same with any unfair attacks against the Journey members – both past and present.

These guys have been around long enough to warrant a little more respect when discussing them. Incidentally I was informed there were some references to family members at one point - something I will certainly not tolerate.

I can't read every post of every thread, so if anyone sees an inappropriate post I have not yet attended to, please PM me.

The history of this band is long and complicated and the fan base is even more so....but these few adjustments to a few folks attitudes when posting here will only make for a stronger forum and dare I say the best Journey forum online. Period.

Sorry, but this really did make me laugh. Do you really think this is going to change? Not critiquing your efforts, or whatever...but you are asking to turn water in to wine...I just can't see 'respect from all sides' EVER happening...ever.

If he called it something else and put it up at the top it would still be the same forum, but not called Journey, but Jana's right the Journey one below it might be alot less busy. Heck, it was just as busy when it was called the Englebert Humperdink forum.

i'm cool with OT threads in here as long as they're clearly marked as OT with an informative subject line. subjects like "wow, check this out!" or "does anyone know?" drive me nuts. i refuse to click into them out of spite.

Same. OTs are fine but when the title is too general, like "this is cool", it makes me not care. You have to make your reader WANT to read, people! If the top two threads are called "this is cool" and "scientist breeds world's first chickenmonkey", which one you gonna click on?

Knock this place all you want, but I think it's nice to not have to conform to the hardline rules that other forums have. Rock and roll is over the top and rebellious by nature, and there is not room for too many rules. We love Journey but we won't conform to rules that force you to praise them or be silenced, and that's why many of us come here to get away from that controlling shit. The guys in Journey are not infallible gods, but rather, they are imperfect humans just like you and I. But Andrew has the right to tell us to chill on the gay Friga jokes and alimony jokes because it's his forum. Maybe if we are real nice to him he will let Stevew slide with a bi-curious Friga joke now and then?

BTW - Did you ever hear the one about Neal's seventh wife?
