Oh see I always thought the mannequin thing in Chain Reaction was worse

That's pretty bad, yeah... but the Journey guys falling past a window, sitting at a card table with coffee, and Steve Perry sitting next to shoes on top of a prison cot, or whatever that is, and then finally standing in a little room staring at each other... that's gotta be the worst ever.  At least in Chain Reaction, something is going on (even if it is kinky and strange!).

My "WTF" moment from the ATF video is where Ross stands up from the table, gives SP a dirty look, then flicks his cigarette across the room to lord knows where. Who does that??? CRACKS ME THE HELL UP everytime I watch it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htxf3GOK4AA

I don't care how goofy it is... I still dig it! 8) NS is a major hottie in dat video too.

LOL toss up for which is worse, but After The Fall is probably my favorite song on that cd. I looooooove Perry's Frontiers and ROR vocals. Those vocals at the 3:40 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htxf3GOK4AA damn near make my toes curl.

Naw, Deb... looks to me like he's trying to take a poop and struggling a little bit getting it out. ('course that might explain the toe-curling wail...) :P Now... check it out right at the 1:00 minute mark. His facial expression makes me wanna cry... And then take him in my arms, of course, to make it all better.

NS was major hottie in this video...... Forget Me Not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbg4IvyDvSw He should play that geetar in head to toe leather in the rain a lot more often.  Bad English has some great tunes, but I never really got into them. There is just something about John Waite that totally turns me off.

Damn that NS looking hot in that video. I am not really into long hair but I love his hair that way!!

lol, the first time I ever heard ATF was the video on GH dvd. Didn't care much for the song watching the cheesy antics. And SP letting out that scream ... what's up with that!? Then, I listened to the song again on the Frontiers cd, and it was on all the Frontiers concert boots. Love the song now .... one of their very best. Fabulous music ... vocals. Just makes you want to jump and holler.

My WTF moment was when SP said to RJ, "Fuck RV and all his bitchiness. You are ready to rock, so let's do some ROR."

Not exactly sure....maybe the CD is not up to his specs. He is a pefectionist (not that it is a bad thing mind you)

Hopefully one day we'll get to hear the lost gems that he and Sony have but have not released. Then later this CD.

Don't think he'll ever sing live again. It's shame too.

Hopefully he's enjoying his life and in a good place now.

That was terrible. ALMOST as bad as Chain Reaction. What were these guys thinking? These video's alone are probably why their not in the Rock -N- Roll HOF. What was with these guys back then? Did the human species just gradually get smarter than they were then? It took years for them get to the intelligence level to realize that these video's are the gayest that's ever been made, and that it gives them a fag image. Just look at WYLAW video years later. That video was acceptable.

And yet, I find it awful hard to imagine this 'fab 5' funning around a jungle with safari clothes on, a la' Duran Duran (my other fave band from the 80s). Maybe it's just hindsight, but in a way I think the cheesiness of the videos is what makes them so memorable to me...

Well, i don't think you'll see SP's solo CD this spring, but I can put two and two together and pretty much gather that the tracks are recorded and there, it's just a matter at this point of deciding on the presentation. What I can say with utter conviction is that we WILL hear Mr P singing again within the next 12 months.

I know NOTHING about Perry whatsoever...

I'm just putting two and two as working musician together. You don't have guys like Russ Miller go on the record with Modern Drummer as saying they just recorded a new record for Steve Perry and not put some meat into that. In the same issue, there was an interview with a producer who claimed to have just finished production on some new Perry tracks. These are not internet blogs. These are national publications. And Russ Miller isn't a drummer your cousin happened to know that wanted some exposure for hanging with you on some demos. That's real music industry grease moving the machine, people.

I have probably read most of what you have and i guess im just not even close to being positive about him at 60. So i guess he's doing his best to figure out the best way to release it through label means.

Me too! Wayne Isham is one of the best, he's directed some of my favorite videos from the 80s and 90s.......especially the live ones. I think he did the ROR Documentary too.

Exactly.....RM was putting his rep on the line by saying that......why would he lie?
And also....this is the printed word....do you know how EXPENSIVE it is to do a retraction in a Mag as big as MD?

In the same issue, there was an interview with a producer who claimed to have just finished production on some new Perry tracks.

Really? Where? I have that issue....

These are not internet blogs. These are national publications.

 And Russ Miller isn't a drummer your cousin happened to know that wanted some exposure for hanging with you on some demos. That's real music industry grease moving the machine, people.

I'm just putting two and two as working musician together. You don't have guys like Russ Miller go on the record with Modern Drummer as saying they just recorded a new record for Steve Perry and not put some meat into that.

Exactly.....RM was putting his rep on the line by saying that......why would he lie?
And also....this is the printed word....do you know how EXPENSIVE it is to do a retraction in a Mag as big as MD?

I didn't think there was any question on this board but that Perry was working on a CD. There's been enough published on here about that since last August. Everybody agrees he is. It's more a discussion of WHEN it will be released or if it will ever be released.

+1 I just think that people who were expecting a release this spring are premature. My question is if and when SP does release a new album, will he go the traditional CD route or straight to digital? Given his past problems with Sony, I think he's not going to put up with a record company. If he does release new music, I think he'll go digital and keep more money for himself.
