with Paul, the only thing I'd want to ask him (because it seems I've heard all his other answers) was "what were you thinking with Heather?"
The guy's been asked pretty much everything under the sun. Check out the Howard Stern interviews on Youtube. Great stuff. Best interviews with McCartney.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Seeing as you're a Beatles guy, do you like Gilbert O'Sullivan. He reminds of the early Beatles quite a bit.

When I was a kid, and I first heard "Alone Again, Naturally"- I TOTALLY thought it was McCartney and I liked the song probably because of that. It only took 2 listens on the big AM radio before they said "That was Gilbert O'Sullivan..." and I realized I made a mistake. That's the only song I think I've heard by him.

I've seen him 4 times:

1- 1976- I was 13 on the 300 level of the Kingdome.
2- 1990- when Flowers in the Dirt came out. Also the Kingdome and still the friggin 300 level!
3- When Driving Rain came out (I forget when)- Tacoma Dome (kingdome had been torn down) Still far away.
4- When Chaos and Creation came out in the Key Arena. Much closer and with my daughter.

All shows were great shows. I'm glad that out of the 3 Beatles that the one that liked to Tour has been the one to do so in his solo career and I'm glad he's had huge tour success. The other 3 weren't into touring. I could NEVER see John doing the tours that Paul has done. Paul really gets something out of playing live. Thank God.

These were his two other U.S. hits. He has numerous albums out in Japan where he's a God.

Gilbert was actually involved in a landmark case where someone had sampled his song with out permission. His case set the precedent for Artists getting paid royalties when someone else incorporates their material. Apparently he made a large chunk of change and is doing quite well these days.

A big benefactor of this ruling was Billy Squier, who's song The BEAT was sampled so often by big name rap artists that he can live off those royalties alone.

Watch it here: http://www.livedaily.com/news/19663.html

It looks great on full screen.

"A 20-plus minute McCartney set followed that included renditions of "Coming Up," "Band on the Run," "Let Me Roll It," "Helter Skelter" and "Back in the USSR."

Thanks for the link!
Looks like they cut out Get Back and Sing the Changes- Those were the tunes they showed on Letterman.

Letterman stutters

Postby CHELBEL » Sat Jul 18, 2009 8:05 am

Does Letterman always stutter or do ya think he was a tad nervous and excited about interviewing Paul? Guess I would be too!

Lora wrote:Saw Paul in Liverpool (in 2002 I think) at an outdoor venue they built just for the concert. One of the highlights of this long-time Beatlemaniac's life. Someone pulled some strings for me and I was able to watch 4 songs from the area in front of the stage, inside the barricade. I sat next to Heather and I was thisclosetoPaul. It was so overwhelming that I thought I was going to vapor lock, but I just cried instead.

CP actually got to meet Sir Paul and shake his hand at one of the shows. <sigh>

I want you and CP to leave me your lives in a will..........   You have had some wonderful experiances between the two of you, but I know your envious of my life as well......my being a successful substitute teacher and all (hoping I get the teaching job! fingers crossed!)

Sounds like a dream Lora.........darn it who keeps waking me from mine and I keep ending up here?
