Always dug Augeri's version. This is kinda cool though...

i agree, hes got perry down good,he should leave the Augeri stuff aloneEhwmatt wrote:Someone posted this a while back, didn't like it then and don't like it now. Arnel's timbre doesn't quite do Augeri's original interps justice. Apparently, Arnel can cover every one out there besides SMFA (yes I just said that). It's also totally shitty they took out Neal's great post-chorus melodic lead guitar that characterized the original.

There are a couple of dictation errors that bother me, but again... I like this one better. Just my opinion of course, and I know I'm in the minority here.

You and me brother. And I'm even in an even bigger minority liking AP's version of Faith In The Heartland better.

I love Arnel's vocals on this song. It really suits his voice.
Faith in the Heartland I like Augeri's version better, but I enjoy Arnel's too.

I'm half-way with you there, Rick.
I like the musicianship of AP's version better, but then again, I like the vocal performance of Augeri better. Is that weird?
You would have really liked him Rick,a nice guy, early on he was awesome, and gotsome damn good reveiwsRick wrote:Deacon wrote:Rick wrote:G.I.Jim wrote:I personally like this version better. No, it's not weird. I had gotten away from Journey for a long time, and got back into them in 2006. I was going to see them, thinking it would be with Augeri, in 06, but when I got to the venue, I heard he wouldn't be singing, so I never got to see him with the band. And with that, I never got to connect with Augeri like a lot of other people did. I think he was great with Journey though.

I do like watching the 2001 Vegas DVD. That DVD is what got me back into Journey. Too bad I didn't get to see it sooner.

I just noticed that every time you guys talk about SA, there seems to to be a unanimous voice on how good a person he is.
That's cool.
