Who but you would want to get anywhere near Detriot?{you can try to hide it just say Michican} YThey where problablly be afriad they ed catch swine flu or something, His sounding a little tired, he should stop runnin around so much, its distracting and makes him even more tiredJasonD wrote:I want them to come to Michigan. It's too late for THIS tour but I think they should play ether the states or overseas but not both & then alternate every couple of years. That is, unless they want to tour a solid year which Schon could probably do, but not Arnel. The singer gets the raw end of that deal.
Journey is coming to the VanAndel Arena in Grand Rapids with Heart on August 25th. Tickets are on sale now.JasonD wrote:I want them to come to Michigan. The thing I did see that I've never seen before, is Neal getting down on his knee and slapping hands with the audience. I thought that was pretty cool.
I'm sure touring is exhausting, and doing it two years in a row, with all the guys 40 through 60, has to be exceptionally tough.
They have been talking about it on the radio and it was in the newspaper. There are several motels in the area. I can try to get some more information for you if you like.JasonD wrote:KDOUBLEU wrote:Journey is coming to the VanAndel Arena in Grand Rapids with Heart on August 25th. Where are you getting that information? They were set for Detroit on September 26th. What happened?????? Grand Rapids may be too far away unless I get a motel room & just spend the night. I don't so much mind driving 150 miles to get there..... it's the 150 miles I'd have to drive home that's stopping me.

As long as there is a YMCA, I'm sure he'll be alright. He looks like he enjoys spending time in the pool.

Now, some 17 dates? into the States shows Arnel is sounding tired (from the youtubes I've seen) and in need of a rest. I am also very underwhelmed with the tuning down. Here are some suggestions I have.
Arnel needs to stay in the States and acclimate to the weather if they are going to have the long tours.
Cut out either the tour here or overseas.
Cut down the number of shows and get back in the right tune. What they're doing now doesn't seem to be helping.
I plan to see them at the beginning of October and hope they get things sorted out.
Thoughts?

You have to remember/Moondance,Freezing Cold.Memphis a couple day's ago Blistering How with bad humity.
The heat will take its toll on the band and so will the humity.
It is hard to breathe, let alons sing when it is hot and Humid, even when it's cold.
Journey is doing just fine,so is Arnel.
Jana wrote:I don't see how they're touring him into the ground. He's only done one tour, last year's, and now this year's. They're trying to introduce a new singer. Re the amount of dates for this concert I don't think it's too many and it's spread out a little better re a few breaks. But I agree get rid of some of these smaller gigs. Actually, some on here complained they were undertouring this year regarding the amount of dates and saying that Steve P. and Steve A. toured way more dates and blaming Arnel for less dates and now they're saying it's too many dates. Oh, well.

Rick, can you tell the difference with the tuning at the concerts? Everyone says they don't notice, but on the videos its very obvious.

BTW...when did you become such a skeptic?!?!

Sometimes I wish we never had it...I mean youtubes of all these shows has become old and tired to me...and I am as guilty as the next person about posting them.
Go to the show...have some adult beverages...rock out...go home with your memories.....this band is WORTH that small gamble.

I can't tell. It sounded right to me. The first song of the concert, after The Journey (Revelation) and Majestic, of course was Separate Ways. Cain didn't have his synth set right or something, and it sounded like he was playing a playskool keyboard.Other than that, they were pretty flawless. The sound wasn't the best in that room, but I don't fault the band for that.
