(I'm not talking about the old man either) and they don't care about the average joe who is upset, in fact they love the angry ones. It's good and well saying things, however! sometimes it's best to just walk away while you still have the chance, you never know who your fighting, and what they will bring to the table. Sure "IF" somebody hurts your child, do something about it, however if you fail? then what.

Nope, there is nowhere in this thread I condone his actions, I said "Big deal" and really, it is not a big deal (nobody died or got injured). Was he wrong for hitting the child, of course he was!.
