I just saw Todd Rundgren w/ an all-star lineup perform A Wizard, A True Star in its entirety Sunday night. Stage production, props, coordination, the whole nine yards... nobody does that any more! Awesome. What's more, with 3/4 of the original members of Utopia, they played an opening set consisting entirely of some of my favorite Utopia tunes.

Other than that,

Elton John+Billy Joel - Two legends
Bachman/Cummings (of The Guess Who) in Windsor - These guys play an awesome set in their native Canada

And really... that's about it. This has been an AWFUL year for concerts.

The only concert I have seen this year is Night Ranger. Saw them at our county fair 3 weeks ago. We were just sitting in the bleachers, using our general admission passes when some guy walked by and said he had 5th row seating tickets for $5 each. I said hell yeah, bought them and the wife and I swiftly moved forward.

Judas Priest was very tight and very loud. Halford sounded amazing.

Saw Tyketto earlier this year. Danny Vaughn never disappoints, and I'd pick his from the heart show over anything Journey can put on stage.

Looking forward to seeing Honeymoon Suite at Firefest and Alice Cooper this November.

I second that. Great shows from Danny. However, far and away the best shows I've seen this year were as follows:-

- Thunder's farewell tour of the UK. I went to seven of the shows and each one of them was stunning - very emotional and very atmospheric.
- Chickenfoot. The most fun gig I've seen in years. Those guys REALLY know how to enjoy themselves on stage.
- Joe Bonamassa at the Royal Albert Hall. Great show but what made it extra special was the venue. And Eric Clapton joined him on stage. If you're talking about cool shows, that was the epitomy of cool.

Let me know how they were, I saw them here over a year ago and they kicked ass! I think they only played one song from their soon to be released cd (at the time). I still haven't checked out their new Clifton cd yet?

So hard to narrow this down!

Whitesnake was incredible, Foreigner delivers like you wouldn't believe, Billy Squier and Lita Ford are the comeback kids, Dokken remains an annual favorite, and I can't leave out FireHouse and Tesla - solid, solid acts.

Yes & Asia had a fantastic tour this year - prog heaven!

Slow & busy year. Saving up now for more shows in the near future when the time is right. Have a wedding to tend to, plus anniversary festivities, and many birthdays, occasions and holidays to save up for. I'll just post my track record for the hell of it to fill this up. I like topics like this to see people's track records haha. Seemed like yesterday in 2006 I was gearing up for my first concert. Needless to say I had anxious jitters for some reason? Long way to go!
