Like I said before, Jay Cutler, along the lines of Phillip Rivers, has proven nothing yet to the NFL as far as winning at all costs to football standards. Yes, Cutler has a rocket arm, and has promise but if you look at anything other than that, he is average at best at this point in his career. If you think Cutler is struggling against GB's D, then he's in trouble next week.

Don't underestimate the loss of Polamalu, dude! Troy is the heart and soul of that defense and without him back there, that secondary is vulnerable. I still think Pittsburgh has a GREAT defense, but I would be VERY apprehensive losing a guy like Polamalu. I think that may have to be my upset pick next week. The game is in Chicago, and Pittburgh's running game looked awful last season and doesn't look like it's improved at all, after one game this season. Chicago by 10

No doubt...losing him changes the very face of the Pitt D. I absolutely love watching him play.

It's possible he may still be out when my Bolts face Pitt in Week 4, and while I'm all for us playing a "complete" Steelers team, I'll take any advantage presented to us in that game, including having Troy watching from the sideline.

No doubt the loss of Polamalu shakes up the lineup in a different way, and LeBeau won't be able to call certain packages that are built around Troy. I mean come on, you can't deny Troy is the most exciting player, if not the best athlete in the NFL, so right away there will be a tremendous dropoff, but not one that will cause major concern of getting the job done defensivley.

With that said, before last season, Polamalu had an unhealthy season and missed multiple games from a shoulder and rib injury I believe. Tyrone Carter stepped in well, and the defense didn't have that big of a drop off until slow and tired legs got the best of them. First and foremost, this secondary, esp that of the 3-4, is built around pressure, and the defensive line, period. We have enough depth and will plug in the right guys at the right time to make up for the loss in Troy, as long as we get pressure from our zone blitzes, and continue to get major production from the D-line. If this happens, then this won't leave the secondary guys on an island, and that's what the Steelers do best. Still, Troy is the heart and soul of a defense that has many weapons and many talented players who fly around the field. He will be missed, but this defense will get the job done regardless and will hold down the fort until he comes back, which I expect sooner than what they are reporting.

Also, I said before the loss of Troy, and before the season that this game in Chicago is a trap game for Pittsburgh. We're going into un-familiar territory, going into a hostile environment, and facing another defense that was always stout, and who plays the exact way we do in many ways. I believe if we shut down Forte, put pressure on Cutler to win the game with limited weapons, and make them one dimensional, then I think Pittsburgh wins this game with ease. I still think it's a trap game, and won't be surprised if we drop a close one here, but we are the kings of these hard nosed, down to the wire games should it come to that. Plus, the Steelers show up in Prime Time.

On the flip side, I think we may have witnessed Aaron Rodgers's coming of age last night. Sometimes, all it takes is one game like that. GB looked good last night.

That offense is going to score some points, Rodgers is maturing very quickly in this league, and like Flacco, he just has an IT factor so to speak. Last year, Green Bay started off fast, but tailed off late in the season. Their defense is going to have to remain consistent.
