Sure sounds like he's having no problems hitting the highs here. Pay attention at about 3:18!

Awesomeness! The "whole-ness" of his voice (I don't know what to call that) and that high note. Just wow! 8)

Wow, that was really good!

That was outstanding. Very, very impressive. And I'm still in awe of how well the Patiently/WCTNGOF combo works.

Change For The Better sounded awesome in Des Moines. Arnel was hitting everything, and it was the best sound quality I have ever heard at a concert. This song is one of those songs that are great in a live setting.

I agree. I actually think all of the Revelation songs they've been playing live in 2009 translate really well to a live setting. Wildest Dream and Change For The Better are standout live tracks. If anything, Never Walk Away is the one that lags a little behind - and that's the one of the three I like the studio version of the most.

I just cannot take him singing Patiently/WCTNGOF, though :( . Sorry, he is singing too close to the real thing, and of all Journey songs, those are the 2 that are absolutely SP's (in my mind).

That's how I feel about ask the lonely.... that song has SP written all over it (maybe not literally, but still... goddamnit, he sounds so absolutely perfect singing it). But I agree that Arnel is definitely a good singer.

And strangegrey, I haven't heard Augeri or JSS's versions of that song. I should look them up sometime...
I've heard JSS do it live and I thought he was pretty damn good myself.

Arnel brings it on every damn song! Even though I loved Steve Augeri, and always will, Arnel completely puts him to shame vocal wise. There is absolutely nothing to compare. Arnel is now in the big league's, will continue to get better, and sooner or later, will be soul of Journey. Can't wait for the new album, esp to provide the right music to Arnel's strength's. MANY to pick from. Journey is the best yesteryear band going, hands down, period, dead discussion.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

On that note, Jon Cain announced last night that Revelation has now gone double platinum. So, for all you fucking purists it is platinum no matter how the hairs are split now.

Is Journey supposed to make an appearance on her show? When? Or did I miss it already? I hardly ever get the TV because my grandson is on X-Box all the time!

Now there is a band with the fair circuit rep. The last three times I have seen them was at state fairs. But, hey, it's Loverboy. I still like em.
