Jim, sorry to hear you had so much trouble. All I did was pull my car into the Wal*Mart parking lot & the clerk came running out of the store waving the DVD in her hand.

(Not really. I had ordered mine b/c I've been sick. It should arrive at my house sometime whenever.)

Well we will await the reviews

He already reviewed it on page 2 of this thread. Sometimes ya gotta read the whole thread. :D :D :D

Based on the numbers in this poll, maybe I should have just added a "I won't buy" option. I have no way to tell how many have not been able to / not gotten around to it yet, vs. those who won't buy it.

OOPS!!! My bad I should have read the whole thread again!!!

Nice review....seems honest and fair IMO

Thanks. I think I'm probably one of the fairest people here when it comes to judging music, especially Journey. No drama baggage here.

You do realize that when employees steal the DVD for you that it doesn't count as a sell, right?

The only complaint I have about the dvd is you can hardly hear the backing vocals in most songs. Other than that its a well producted dvd and the setlist is awesome.

I noticed that too and pointed it out in my review... it doesn't seem they were piping quite as many canned backing vocals in... maybe that's why they turned em down low. Deen's probably the only one who can really sing a good harmony at this point. There's no way Ross is on ANY of those harmonies, lol.

I noticed that too. Alot of the time I only saw Deen singing backing vocals, and only a few times Neil and John would, but not all that much. Yeah, Ross has probably checked out when it comes to backing vocals lol.

Larry, buddy, let me give you a quick piece of advice. Don’t advertise your autobody business on a crusty old 1988 red, white, and blue Dodge Caravan with missing hub caps. That would be like Gold’s Gym passing out 6XL t-shirts.

Save your money and instead of buying the Manila DVD get you the new Skynyrd Gods & Guns CD instead.

I remember reading your posts from not even a year ago and you were very positive about this band's current line up. I can also remember that you were very positive about Arnel back then. I am really curious why there is a sudden change in opinion from you?

Its this...I had a Super Bowl party last February and since I dont care about either team I was stoked about Journey performing before the game. Thats all I talked about all day leading up to the game. My friends were on the edge for this performance. When they came out and did DSB I had silence fall over the house...then arnel kept eye rolling and singing like shit....my friends looked at me with beleagured eyes:this is Journey??? The band you talk about all the time??? What happened to them??? It was then I realized this wasnt Journey, it was a fake reincarnation with a Holiday Inn lounge singer. It just hasnt been the same for me since.

It was ONE song man! If I had this attitude, I would've quit listening to them when I first heard "Can Do". Ugh...

:)
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

For me the mystery is solved, just got it.

It was freshly put out, with the other new releases at the crack of 1pm on new release day at a store that opens @ 7am, with the stocking slip still sitting on top of the units. The stock date read 10/6 so WalMart had it wrong all along in my eyes.

Just walked in. I FINALLY landed this. About time. I had to call 3(!) Wal-Mart's to clarify if they have this or not. Wal-Mart should be ashamed of themselves for messing this up so damn badly. My 3rd and final call had the DVD, and of course, is the farthest out of my way. Funny, the first Wal-Mart I called, this idiot lady, once again, had me on hold. I specifically told her that A CONCERT DVD, of JOURNEY, called JOURNEY LIVE IN MANILA was due out last Friday, so I asked her to check. Some 5 minutes later she gets on CHUCKLING that the only "CD" ( ) that they have of Journey is the Greatest Hits. I was stunned that this deaf illiterate person just couldn't listen to me for a brief 5 seconds and then go look for the right item. My response: "You make me sick" **CLICK**.

Now, let me get lost in this DVD, rock out in my head.. and I'll be back to give my review on it the best as I can. 8)
