Favorite(s) on Sonic Boom?

Postby Deuce » Wed Oct 07, 2009 12:39 am

I bought Sonic Boom today and it's virtually a perfect album. While I love every song on it, there are some that stand out even more to me. My favorite is probably "Danger Us" and my second favorite might actually be "All For The Glory." You can't go wrong with any of 'em, though. Eleven winners for sure.

What are some of your favorites?

I agree. I love the whole CD. The only one I am not crazy about is Animal.

My favs are probably Never Enough, Hot and Cold, and Danger US.

Funny. ANIMAL is my favorite. I think Gene's stuff really stands out on this album (though, despite the goofy chorus, I do like DANGER US alot too.)

GREAT album!!! This really sounds like "Rock and Roll Over" era Kiss......I am really happy to see that Paul and Gene wrote together again. Also, not 1 outside writer on the album. Very cool!!!

Personally i dont like it at all.
The gene songs are great but the paul songs are very weak.
Love never enough and i cant really think of anything else i like on this cd.Maybe one other paul song, but this doesnt come anywhere near Revenge,H.I.TS or anything else.

You think Paul's songs are weak, but you love "Never Enough", which was written by Paul and Tommy and sung by Paul.

"Sonic Boom" is on par with "Revenge" and is so much better than "Hot In The Shade".

Definitely better than HOTS. And yeah, probably is on par with REVENGE (which admittedly, I haven't pulled out in awhile.) I think it's better than anything (REV and COS excepted) they've done since Creatures.

"Revenge", "Destroyer", and "Creatures" are my favorites. I'd put "Sonic Boom" somewhere right behind those.

Paul stated they'll play 3 or 4 new songs when the "Sonic Boom" tour officially starts.

I'd pick MDD, Say Yeah (second choice - Never Enough), I'm An Animal (new blood/flying number; second choice - Yes I Know), All For The Glory, and When Lightning Strikes.

I think it's better start to finish than Revenge, without hitting the high points of that album. I'm not surprised it's good though, I thought Live To Win was a killer bunch of songs, and this seems to continue the trend.

"Live To Win" == B -

"Sonic Boom" == A -

Not even close.

"Sonic Boom" == highest charting KISS cd on the Billboard 200

"Alive/35" tour == highest attended European tour; higher attendance than U.S. "Revenge" tour

Hands down their best produced, best SOUNDING disc EVER!

Rocks my car CD player as hard as any disc I've had in a long, long time!

What's so wrong with Hot In The Shade??

Personal favorites from this album are: I'm An Animal, Say Yeah and Modern Day Delilah

But I predict that on future KISS tours only Modern Day Delilah might get played.

1. Never Enough..Any song about pussy is #1 in my book. Plus it's the Kiss I love to hear, great chorus & catchy tune.
2. Say Yeah..This song IS an arena rock anthem.
3. Yes I know..Best Gene song IMO.
4. Stand..Hell, it's better than the rest.
5. I'm an animal. I knew Gene sung this when I read the back of the cd
6. Modern Day Delilah. Good tune to release as a first single, but they missed the boat when they didn't promote "Never Enough" enough!
7. All for the glory. I was surprised by this one, grew on me.
8. Danger us
9.Hot & Cold
10. Russian Roulette
11. When lightening strikes

I thought this was a great effort, but could have been better, with more Paul & less Gene songs and more in the line of "Never Enough". On a scale of 10 it would rate a 7 IMO. I thought "Revenge" was where they were on track & heading in the right direction until distractions again took over.
"Steve "The Riffmaster" Clark"
