Now if the BCS were FAIR....it would take into consideration margin of victory. You beat an unranked team by TEN points. TX beat an unranked team by 33 points, and if Alabama beats their unranked team by more than 10 pts, Alabama should be #1. I do not like margin of victory as a determination, but thems the rules, and they've set precedent on this, and UF has benefitted from MOV before....Let's see if the BCS has the balls to unseat a VERY undeserving UF team.

Watched the Ole Miss - Tenn game today.....Dexter McCluster is da man. He was unstoppable.

Image

Too bad Ole Miss can't play Florida.....that would be a definite loss for UF - even though QB Snead sucks ass for Ole Miss. Just run McCluster in the wildcat , baby!!!!!

It is so fucking assinine that Florida is still #1. The ONLY reason they are is because they were preseason #1. They haven't lost, and neither has the #2, and #3 teams. If either one of them was Preseason #1 - they'd still be on top as well. The BCS is a joke. More favoritism than any other sports organization. What happened to Margin of victory as a determination of rank? Florida wins by 10, TX wins by 33, and Alabama wins by 28 - but yet Florida still stays as #1? I call bullshit.

I've decided I just don't care about college football anymore. Sure, if a good game happens to be on while I'm sitting on my ass I might watch it. But I'm no longer going to keep up on it. It's a joke. You have the #2 and #3 teams both winning in blowouts, yet one of them loses their #2 spot to the other?

I can understand Florida is the "defending champ" and they haven't lost YET, but no sport should ever give any credence to ANY result besides the results of the season currently in progress. Florida's undefeated but not super impressive while doing so. I just don't see why one of those teams has to go down a spot after they both dominated. Stupid.

Because Florida played a quality SEC team on the road, a team thats been ranked in the top 20 this season and has already upset the #4 team earlier(ole miss). South Carolina is way above Baylor and Miss State. Purely and simply. Now with that being said do I think we should still be #1? No, but our defense does. Our defense has to be the best in the country. We will continue to win based on our defense. Will I still gladly accept the #1??? Fucking a right I will!

Margin of victory should mean SQUAT! I mean, look at the way some teams are coached versus others. For example, some teams (USC, UF, Miami, ect. come to mind) don't have a problem kicking the snot out of "Where Am I" University 72-3. Other schools, which are coached in a more "conservative" style (e.g., Ohio State) virtually NEVER "step on the gas" once they have a team beat. Tressel calls off the dogs early. Just his style. Now, does this mean that TOSU did not deserve to win the National Championship in 2002? Of course not. They simply did a thing called WIN. All of their games, including the one against the so-called "invinceable" Miami Hurricanes!

My point is, the ONLY stat that really matters is the "win/loss" stat and the "strength of schedule".

Just my opinion.

I would put Ohio State's defense against ANYONE's this year.

It's their OFFENSE that I'm not too thrilled with. Give Pryor another year...he's starting to come along. Now, we just have to get Tress out of the "dark ages" in his offensive philosophies...harder thing to do!

The Iowa loss sucked for buisness... the rose bowl packages would have been a GREAT money maker to close out a crappy business year with!! But seceretly, I am pretty happy OSU beat the Hawks..
and I did not get to watch it... family obligations...

Florida is # 1 in my book until someone beats them. they dont win 56-10 like they used to... but then I think Meyer saves the energy for when it matters and I hate the SEC... just because CBS televises them, they think SEC is top of all conferences... which its not... to have 2 unbeatens to me tells me the conference top to bottom sucks... like the big 8 was and the big ten used to be... think what OU and Nebraska used to beat up on the little six...and the Buckeyes and Mich teams used to do before Penn state arrived. just saying...

My cyclones beat the Buffs first 6 win season in 4 years... DAMN thats awesome!!!

As Coach Meyer has said himself he is on top of the mountain now, no reason to think theres anything better. ND is a dead end job and he knows it. No way he gets the recruits there that he gets at Florida. He has said repeatedly that Florida offers the best facilities, the best recruits and a damn fine paycheck. And Florida could pay more, which they probably will do anyway after this season. They choose to up pay based on accomplishments, not because your name is Urban Meyer, Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier, etc.
I would be damn surprised if he went anywhere else other than the pros and that wont happen either. I look for Brian Kelly from Cinncinati to end up at ND.

I hate ND too SG, but they have deeper pockets than any school on the planet, UF included. He can get recruits there, but the academics are stronger than UF so it would be harder to win there but that is the Glory stop in Collegiate football. Every coach wants either the ND or Alabama job.

If, and I say this with a huge GOD FORBID that Coach Meyer ever does leave UF the coach of this team: http://espn.go.com/ncf/clubhouse?teamId=294 will be the next coach-Kerwin Bell, a former Gator QB from the 80's who finds a way to win at JU even though they cant recruit. Has a direct pipeline to UF and has coached the high school state champions at Ocala Trinity and took the job at JU for college experience. Heres the "next" man: http://www.judolphins.com/directory/default/0/133/
and hes one hell of a good guy!

I agree to those terms. That was one rugged D, forced Paterno in short order into that asspucker/Mexican Standoff gameplan.
Good luck selling that to the SEC knotheads though.

That is so absurd i don't even no where to begin. Just because they were arbitrarily placed as PRESEASON #1, and have subsequently not lost this year....is that a good enough reason to not lose the number 1 ranking? Alabama and Texas are undefeated as well - and their only crime is not being a preseason #1.

Please don't make it so easy for me to make you look foolish.
