Wow, Chalfant and Rolie made a great team vocally together. I really like Rolie's lead vocals on Call Me and Take Me Away and their harmony. And then to have Steve Smith. Josh Ramos I really like; though, no Neal. What great songs on their debut album in '91: I had only listened to songs on the second album in mid 90s. I really wonder what the Journey album would have been like with Cain/Rolie/Chalfant/Neal/Smith/Valory if Perry hadn't jumped back in. Though, this definitely is lighter rock and ballads, and isn't a heavy rock album.

This is what Journey should have/could have been again. Again it is back to KC! He should have been the "new" singer for Journey. I liked Augeri run, JSS would have made a great cd with them, but KC should have been the go to man.

I have no desire to see the current line up. I will buy their cds, and dvds. But I do not want to pay and go see this line up of Journey. I wish the new line up the best and hope AP the best. I liked both the new dvd and the new 3 pack on Revaltions. But unless the next cd is really outstanding and AP speaks english a little better, I do not see me going to a Journey concert. The band is riding high right now with AP story and hope they carry that over to a new cd, and they got the classic sound back, although with a slight accent. But to me it is missing a good front man. I know that is hard for me to judge not having seen the band in person. AP has a good voice, but the boots I have seen and heard, hugh!

Perry set the mark for the band and all bands. Augeri had a more laid back act, JSS in your face, and Kevin is in between. I would take them over AP worm in hot ashes act.

Good to see Kevin doing anything.

I have seen Arnel live twice, and he was absolutely fantastic this year and loved his voice and energy on stage, as did the people I was with both years.. JSS was way wrong for me. So each to his own on here. But that's what makes MR go round.

I have to agree, about JSS being wrong for Journey, but I thought he was a strong frontman and would have made a good cd with Journey, but it would have not been in the classic sound. I want the classic sound for the band without being stuck in the past.
Like I said I wish them the best, I am not sold on AP after 1 cd. Hope he changes my mind on the next one.

and a few from the 2nd album Eye of the Storm--which I thought was the better album of the two.

Don't Give Up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-e0cTrcTUI4
Waiting For the World To Change http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIFwgHKWOk8
Love Isn't Easy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhDKRvvT ... re=related
the big ballad To Have and To Hold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3j9JyP9 ... re=related

absolutely awesome vocals by Chalfant (and a bit of Rolie) on these. To think that these were recorded just before the time that Chalfant performed with Journey--and did some co-writing, his voice is very strong on this material.

There is just no way I can watch Arnel's monkeyleaping any more. G.I. Jim and I were havin a good laugh about it the other day. You can just tell he doesn't really know what to do so he's just being as hyper as possible. It's like a rookie basketball player running the floor really fast but missing rotations and making boneheaded turnovers because he's got so much nervous energy. Terrible.

Like you said before, you didn't go to a concert this year. And he has considerably toned it down this year as the tour went on compared to last year and was much more confident as time went on, and by the end of the concert tour in Orlando I thought he was amazing and much more self-assured on stage. And my sister kept looking at me during the concert blown away by his energy on stage, and she's pretty picky about her frontmen. But that's just me. Others might not like him.

A few songs cement a time and place for me and this is one of them.

Maybe 'cause it'd been years since ROR but when this hit the radio, I was one of those listening really close and thought. Is Journey back?!

No doubt, Chalfant could've taken over the reigns. That's a great track.

Love arnel energy and i think is honest not a pose, he seem like an hyperactive and charismatic frontman to me; for example, personally i don't like watch live a guy like Tony Martin (Black Sabbath ex vocalist), altough he is a great singer he seem pretty boring on stage
