There were pretty girls, violinists, pianists, drummers, guitarists, lots of hair tossing and dancing and moving about the stage. All performers, singers and instrumentalists were exceptionally talented. The light show was cool and the fire, awesome. I was closer to the front than I realized, about 4 rows from the stage. I usually like sitting farther back. But, it was kind of fun feeling the heat of the dancing flames from the stage. Almost felt like the flames were going to reach out and singe my hair, some of which I had just purchased a few days before. The sentimentalism of stories about good and evil and faith and God were not my cup of tea for personal reasons, but if nothing else the message was universal, it united people of all walks in the arena and that impressed me.
One of the singers, Tommy Farese, was very charming, I loved his presence on stage. He mentioned being from the Bronx and after the show for the M&G I told him my mother was from South Bronx.
There was a young guy who played the character of an old man who sang a long tale, he was wonderful. Some of the females, one lady in particular I cannot remember her name, belted out her songs loud and strong, very theatrical.
Those of you who wanted me to see JSS in concert, 49er Kim, were right about his musical abilities. He has a very commanding powerful presence and singing voice. I wish him all the best in moving forward and being more recognized.
The M&G. Let me pitch a bitch for a second. I think the Arco Arena staff could have been less condescending to fans who spend their hard-earned money for tickets and programs. I understand staff have jobs to do, but respect is essential. Politeness goes a long way, really. No point in pontificating, just wanted to bitch.
I did meet JSS at the end of the line, but there was no hug, or pix taking and very little conversation allowed by staff, time constraints no doubt. Plus, by the time I saw JSS my new shoes had set my boney feet on fire and my back hurt from standing in that line. I was tired, hungry and had to hail a cab back to the hotel. The security guards tried to get me to wait out in the cold, so I had to go into Diva “I will cut chu” mode and eventually they left me alone. JSS seems like a nice guy, though. Thanks for all the encouragement, Kim.
All in all it was just the distraction I needed as I am not too content or happy at the moment, long story nothing I won’t get over at some point. I hope those who will see TSO have a great time, it is a party to be sure. Hopefully you won’t have too much trouble with staff, taking pix and videos.
